Hey, I haven't seen it so this is just hearsay - but how about Bastard!? Correct me if I'm on crack, but I could've sworn that had potential for something like this. Naked people everywhere and no shounen-ai.
Fanservice idea....with a twist

With a username like "BISHOUNENStalker", why does everyone think I'm a guy? And as if my sig wasn't a clue, either....

Why take it so personally? It's just common, that's all. It's a pretty safe assumption that male anime fans (straight ones) like fanservice, and since - as you know by now - male fanservice is rare, it's an almost safe assumption that a female anime fan/bishie fan is at least partial to shounen-ai. Because six times out of ten, that's where the bishounen are.
They weren't saying "You're lying! You do, you do, you do!!!!!" - they were just jumping to conclusions. That's not the same as "hard for people to believe".
It's not such a big deal, anyway.
...ah well. To each their own. *shrugs and leaves the thread*

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to take it quite so personally. I know it's a common and logical assumption, but it's one I'm getting quite sick of people making.

Actually, I haven't seen any of the first season of Gensoumaden Saiyuki. I've only the DVDs of the second season. (*cough cough*) But now that ADV has licensed it, in another 2 years or so maybe I'll be able to actually watch the first season on domestic DVDs. Aaanyway maybe they kept some of the same animations in the opening sequence from the first season? The songs are different I know from looking at the OSTs, though. Does the first season opening sequence also include the four of them dressed up in hip-hop style? I don't pay much attention to the Goku fanservice since even if he's just an anime character either way you look at it he's still a little boy. He's got cute dimples but if you're lusting after him, no offense there's something wrong with you.
I wouldn't consider Gensoumaden Saiyuki yaoi or shounen-ai. As I mentioned in General Anime. Whatever yaoi you see in it is only due to an overactive imagination. All I know is that pretty anime guys wearing leather pants and fixed in angsty poses with chains shackled to them looks pretty sexy and it's not like they're chaining each other up or anything demented like that.
Anyways enough about Saiyuki since it's leading into other discussions. In any case I know quite a few fighting animes have some pretty muscular men in them. Most anime directed by masami obari like Battle Arena Toshinden, Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, Voltage Fighter: Gowcaizer, and Virus Buster: Serge all have guys with bishy hair and abdomens that probably couldn't exist in real life. I found Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture the most realistic and alluring of those titles, his cap-antics are pretty one of a kind too.
Kenji and Hans from A.D. Police - To Protect and Serve caught my eye when I was browsing DVDs. I probably would've never bought the series if I hadn't seen this picture:

It's one of the most worthwhile Anime purchases I've made.

Yeah, Saiyuki's definitely a good choice. It slipped my mind because I only saw the first two episodes of it at the local anime club's "Mishmash Night" (basically they drag out the whole closet full of anime and slap it up on the screen). Guys in chains...that definitely works.
As for a song, I got a couple choices in mind. I'm trying to avoid the terribly obvious "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred:
DDR -- Boys
The Weather Girls -- It's Raining Men
If you can think of more possibilities that would fit, fling 'em my way.

I extracted this song for tomj, and here it's still hosted. (right click)SQ wrote:How about, for a song, "So many Men, So little time?"
That'd go great.. Because.. Well, you have an inside joke with the lyrics.. So many men on TV.. So little fanservice time.. -shrug- I thought it was funny..
Anyway, I have the CD if you want a wav extracted...

Songs, oo fun. (I'll check out the journal thing shortly. Thanks for not counterflaming ^_^;; )
Let's see - Well, you could always go for something like a usual fanservice song for the comedic value, like Art of Noise and Tom Jones' version of "Kiss" (that's a more "address the audience" kinda choice, rather than "address the subject of the video")
Bjork, Venus As A Boy (slow, but it's got the topic right)
Heart, Magic Man (Only if it's for that 80s contest )
Liz Phair, Supernova (the lyrics remind me of a shoujo-anime bishounen )
MXPX - Chick Magnet (it's been done, but it's cute)
Republica - Drop Dead Gorgeous (love. this. song!!!)
That's all I've got, and the last one is probably the best. 8)
