wow so what does 1000+ downloads mean?
It means your e-dick is slightly longer than average but Koop and AD could still cock slap you from down the block while your holding you're admiring your 6.5 inches.

What about those always voted in "Rookie of the Year" in the VCA's?

I guess the proper response should've been, what does it matter? ... With any community, you're going to have people who are more well known than others, whether it be for their proliferation in that communities main interest (like, a really incredible gamer in a gaming community, or a brilliant photographer in a photography community), or they're very well known for being socially outspoken (this typically reaches proliferation at cons. There are some people who are well known at cons yet are not [or weren't] well known for their vids. Thusly, when they DO release a video, it gets more notice since people just know the person). I dont know which one has more impact, but a good combination of the two can make a lot of difference.

All that being said, I still say, what does it matter? This is a hobby. Popularity contests are going to happen, but in the end, if you enjoy making AMV's and sharing them with others and you get a personal fulfillment from it, then the "who's who" shouldn't make any difference.

Well, first, I have to thanks all of you for your various comments.

Second, after a closer look of every posts, Being active here is the key.

Sadly, I won't be that active on the site (don't have the time/patience/will), but I'll continue to make AMVs.

BTW, I'm not English, and I think that I made a mistake in my title.

I confused "fame" and "acknowledge".

Now, the REAL question:

How to become acknowledged here?

*start and feed an other 6 pages of comments*

p.s.:I'm aware that some of your old answers can also be applied to that question.
I'm French Canadian. You should be honored.......

1. be friendly to other members, try to make friends. though begging for friends won't get you anywhere.

2. work hard on an amv. don't say 'well, this is the most awesome amv ever' or 'i know it sucks but please be easy on me.' Have confidence in yourself, but don't be coneited.

3. Have fun? (do we have to add that in there? >>)

4. I know you said you couldn't be real active, but try to be as active as you can.

5. meet other members at cons

6. stuff

o.o

You could do something completely off the wall like hosting videos that the .org wont host due to content. then you show up to a con and people are like, "Hey, it's the guy with the hentai hosting."

I guess it really depends on what you want to be known for as well.
