"why can't i find an amv with such-and-such anime?"
Okay, I understand I'm new here, and this may not hold as well as if one of the regulars or veterans said it, but I'll say what I have to say, regardless.
I've noticed a few people fretting over certain animes not being used in AMVs, not being able to find any good videos for that favorite lesser-known/appreciated anime. Or not being able to find videos that match their eclectic and eccentric musical tastes.
When this happens, be happy. Here's your chance to bring something new to the table. When I see that the song I used isn't on the list, it makes me grin. It means nobody on the site has created and submitted a video to that song!
So, if you wanna find a Vampire Hunter D video set to Forest of Shadows, and there's none listed here... make your own. That's your opportunity to stand out in the crowd, and possibly start a new wave in AMV production.
If there's a hole, patch it.

yes I agree
but some people are lazy and don't want to put in the work involved in making amv's or they just don't have the time/money/hardware/software/insert excuse here.
So they post here hoping that someone will read it and *visualise light blub appearing overhead* have a brilliant idea and go do it for them. Still most of these posts should be in amv suggestion ... cos that's pretty much what they are.

Since I'm a DBZ AMV producer, I can't do too much for originality there. But I noticed that "Midnight" wasn't listed at all under the Trans-Siberian Orchestra song titles when I uploaded that old video.OmniStrata wrote:kapow!

Or maybe they just don't feel like it. Come on, a lot of people like looking at good cosplayers, but they don't cosplay themselves. There's nothing wrong with being a spectator. Without them, you wouldn't have an audience half the time.but some people are lazy and don't want to put in the work involved in making amv's or they just don't have the time/money/hardware/software/insert excuse here.
Other than that, I agree. I may wish that there were some great videos out already, so I can be all impressed and fangirlish about something, but it IS an opportunity to expose people to some new stuff. 8)

Nah seriously I was just being narky calling amv-watchers lazy, it's been a looong day. I appreciate amv-watchers since I was one not too long ago. In fact if you get right down to it I don't actually know of any more amv creators in my neck of the woods.
If people want to request vids that's what the amv suggestions forum is for, right?

Y'know...neither do I. I have a friend that I showed the software to, but he just uses it to make skate videos. (So he has the advantage of using live footage....no logos and subtitles. ) It does help, knowing someone else who uses the software though.Warpwind wrote:In fact if you get right down to it I don't actually know of any more amv creators in my neck of the woods.

Exactly
I used to complain about the same stuff. . . but now that I have a decent computer, I've started coming up with stuff like crazy and actually attempting it.
