the poster boy for a good AMV
I already asked what your favorite AMV is, but what AMV would you use as an example for what a good AMV should be like.
(when I say be like I mean get the lip synching correct keeps with the beat, shortening of the song if the song is to long.)
I am talking about the kind of AMV you would show a person who wanted to start making AMV's but didn't do anything over the top or to complex and time consuming (like tainted dontus. We like it, but we can't show it to newbies and tell them they have to make their AMV that way.)

Kusoyaro's Libari Fatali comes to mind. It is the perfect example of scene selection and musical synchronization, makeing it appear that every scene was actualy made for the music, an extremely difficult feat. Also Absolute Destiny's Shameless rock vid has some of the most amazing effects and beat synch. Not only were the effects abundant and very extravigant in some areas, but non felt out of place or overbearing. They all had their place and flowed very well with the vid itself. Also, the eyebrows.....nuff said.
Anyways, these are just my opinions, so take em with a grain of salt

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust set to Liberi Fatali is also an excellent scene selection and sync example, IMO

first, i'd get them INTO liking amvs. so i'd show them Odorikuruu or some other amv that would get them all hyped up. then to lock them into likign amvs and watching others, i'd bring them to this site. :p then i'd show them all my favs... BBT's Failed Experiments (for comedy and a little view of the life that is amv creating :p), Shadow's It's Not Easy (for dramatic effect that'll get them addicted to watching), IceChai's To Love You More (to show them some romance and get them ancy to create, Omni's Dancing Stars (to give them a little preview with what they can do with digital effects when they master amv creating at some point...for a glimps of a future goal with having amv's as a hobby. ), and them some DBZ vid to Linkin Park (to show them what NOT to do...). i would show them mine...but i dont' want them to run away and not give it a try. i'll show them AFTER they're knee deep and addicted to editing. heh

look, if you want to start on editing... pick an anime you have lots of footage on and make a simple vid that flows the story plot of the anime. choose a nice song that would best describe the underlying point or theme of the anime and use it. do some simple (not too literal) lyric matches, match scene to mood of the song. dont' get into the digital effects now. this is only for the n00b's who want to make their first amv. its only a suggestion. don't take ur first vid too seriously, just make a vid to get the feel for it, then worry bout the details later. you don't have to see every amv here in order to get a feel for what kind of vid your gonna make. all that comes later.
and trying to cover up you're noobism w/ this type of thread does tend to make other stray from the topic at hand. you cant' blame us. giving us a hypothetical situation wont' get you anywhere because we dont' always pay much attention when we read threads and tend to go on the flow of things. so sorry if my post was a bit off topic. but you did say "if you were to show someone an amv... yadda yadda (can't remember the rest, but it was to that effect).
anyway, i got distracted and i forgot all that i was gonna say (short term memory),....but you get my drift yeah?
