AMVs that scared you...
Are there any AMVs that have scared you or gotten any other unpleasant emotional reaction out of you?
The AMV that won "Best Comedy" (out of all things) at Metrocon 2005 scared me so much that at the end I was about to start crying and screaming. Never ever had an AMV frightened me so much. Granted, I was a little upset due to the two I submitted not having won anything- but the video itself gave me NIGHTMARES afterwards.
It was a "Yami no matsuei" dialogue video. I won't even mentioned the dialogue because I don't want a panic attack. Many people liked it and could not see the problem. One friend even thinks that doing a YnM comedy video is hard enough alone to merit the award. But I was deeply offended by it- not to mention freaked out.

I guess you don't do well with the genre of horror either. Did the Ring make you freak out too?Scandia wrote: It was a "Yami no matsuei" dialogue video. I'm not one to get scared when it comes to amvs, I can only see it for what it is, animation and audio. Generally the only time I'll turn an amv off is when the sound disagrees with my ears, or if I'm being subjected to a bunch of male fanservice or overly excessive violence

I've been rather silent about your comments thus far, even after having read them on the Metrocon boards and your LiveJournal. I chalked it up to the fact that you were in a bad mood during/after the contest. But it's been over a month now, and you still haven't let it go ? Listen, I don't know what about it offended you so much, but to go and publically criticize it is petty and completely uncalled for. I recommend that you learn to differentiate between fiction and reality, as your replies to http://www.livejournal.com/users/eternitat/466672.html would lead me to believe you have a hard time accomplishing.
Not to mention that you've made threads in the past about how upset you were when people criticized your videos. I find it ironic that you would engage in the same sort of behavior that you claim distresses you so.

I'm not flaming the video. I am just asking if there are any videos that scare you, and that was the prime example.
And I would really really appreciate it if you do not post links to my LJ.
I did let it go a long time ago. It just popped up as a topic of conversation.
Though I do like winning, if I were a sore loser, I would have flamed every video that won. Or at least those that won in the categories that I submitted videos for. I have never submitted a comedy video to an AMV contest, so that is not the point.

Yeah, right. You didn't flame the video.Scandia wrote:But I was deeply offended by it- not to mention freaked out.
Oh, and if you have a LiveJournal account, you really shouldn't complain about people posting links to it. If you didn't want people to see it, you wouldn't have made one.
Try not to contradict yourself anymore than you already have.

Had I said "The video sucks. It was a stupid piece of crap", then that would be flaming. I simply said what reaction I had to it. To me, that is a totally different thing.
I am not going to deny to you that I am envious and a little resented that mine did not win and that Icy Cloud's AMVs have higher scores than mine. But that alone is not going to make me go out and bash every single one of Icy Cloud's AMVs. Nor yours. Nor anyone's.
