What is the main purpose of an AMV?

If my purpose in AMVs would be to entertain, I would shoot myself.

My aims with AMVs are:

To dispense with the inherent and delineated.
To destroy the viewer's expectations, perceptions, and views of the world, art and society.
To yell "FUCKER" at the moon.

No, that's not it, although I often end up thoroughly entertained for the results.

But - and it's up to the others to figure out whethere I'm being serious on this or not - I've always been under the belief that my AMVs are initiated by higher forces for their own ends.

You actually do it for days?

The only purpose of an AMV is for enertainment. If you have fun editing, good. If not, the hell you doing it for. It'd be like me playing some really old game that sucks ass when I could be doing sometihng better. A hobby doesn't become a hobby for no reason. :/

To express an idea or concept that has come up in your mind. To put a story together using music and scenes from an anime or video game. To use your creativity and technical knowledge for a good purpose.
