YEY! Forget about AWA Pro - krzT's "best birthday present" award is so much better! :D
bakadeshi wrote:Hell ya!!!! Got not 1, not 2, but 3 VAT Guest awards (one of them mine) in Pro this year...
Awesome work. One of the best not just KH, but i'd even go as far as to say Video game amvs I've had the pleasure of watching, Hence why I gave it my "Best use of video game footage" guest award at AWA this year.
Aww, thank you so much for that, and thank you also to whoever gave me the other two. I got a kick out of the "Why the hell didn't this win anything, what's wrong with you people?!" award. xD

Yeah, I've always wondered why most KH amvs haven't taken advantage of all the shameless Disney characters. It's definitely one of the things that drew me to the game, and I'm glad you enjoyed this video for it.
dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Heh. You already know my thoughts on this one, since I happened to see it right when it was the new vid on the block.
Thanks for the op! I'll try to reply to it soon. :P
Otohiko wrote:A very shameless video. In a good way. It does everything well and appropriately, in the right amounts, without taking itself too seriously.
That was pretty much my goal. My friend, you know me too well. :P

The video quality is not great everytime but I've taken pleasure to watch it
Thanks! I wish I could've made the video quality a little better too, but there's only so much you can do with captured footage...

Thank you to everybody else for commenting! I'm glad it gave you guys a happy feeling. :D And do check out the game if you can. The fun factor is like... this video times 100. :P

It deserved it. Played about a quarter of the way into the game, hated every moment of it with a bloody passion, but was still intrigued and floored enough with the flow, mood, story, etc. of the video that it absolutely deserved something. So great to hear two other people recognized it!

(It also reminded me that I wanted to play another great VGMV, Zelda 64 2.0, at our panel during the convention. So I did.)

nice amv. Seriously. Two questions though. An undeniable amount of work went into this that you don't see to often in other KH amv's. (Kind of makes me want to make another newer/better KH amv myself.)

Just out of curiousity
1.) what format did you capture your footage in? Uncompressed avi, compressed avi using one of the many codecs, mpeg-2, or perhaps something else?

2.)How on earth did you get the letters in that logo to look so damn authentic. lol.
My next biggest project to come...

I was really surprised by this. At first, when it came up on the discs, I saw the Kingdom Hearts CG and my reaction was basically "ugh." But after, I really ended up enjoying it with the use cut-scenes and such.

Nice job!

I love this video, and it was one of the few Pro videos I really enjoyed over and over. It totally should've won Character Profile.

I guess the game isn't for everyone. Glad you still enjoyed the video though. :P

1. DV. I had no video capture card, so I just used a line-in to my digital camcorder. I used the MainConcept DV codec to decode on the computer side. Then I filtered all the footage for cleanup and reencoded everything to Lagarith for editing.
2. I cheated. :P There's a nice Kingdom Hearts font that you can download online. Once you have that, it's just a matter of playing with font height, spacing, shading, etc.

Originally I wasn't going to use the CG footage at all. But the music actually comes with sounds of waves crashing at the beginning, so I gave in.

Haha well, I think the category that best suits this video is probably Best Sentimental, but I wasn't nominated there... oh well. :P I wonder what happened to the "Best Marketing" category. There were quite a few Pro entries that could've competed in that.

Hehe...you know it! :-)

I think the thing that impressed me most about this vid was just the overall effort that went into capturing the footage...I mean, having to go through the same cutscene multiple times using different keyblades? Just absolutely gorgeous implementation of everything that the game had to offer and definitely my favorite game music vid out there (though I may be biased...only slightly though ).
