My first real AMV. Yeah, I know, unlikely to be anything special, but I spend a lot of time on it, so I'd like to get as much feedback and as many people to see it as possible. I think it's still quite a decent video for a first try, though. I am tough skinned and accept all manner of criticism as long as it's constructive.

Re: King
Nice to hear quentin tarantino-style music (at least, that's what I thought about it)
1.41: good beatsync with the explosion
1.53: bad lip sync. If she was saying "let's give this another try" it should fit. You can remove frames, duplicate frames to get the proper sync.
end; nice to see credits, but the font was very plain.
Overall, I've not watched Code Geass and didn't get into it when I tried to - but I can see certain things - footage, beat sync and lyric sync - that you did to make the AMV interesting. I guess I wasn't sure what the AMV was about - but with the ending with Lelouch dying??? (spoiler warning plz) it seemed to be a chronology of the events in Code Geass. Was impressed by the quality of the footage and the fact you've compressed your audio and exported to XviD (you made yourself sound like a n00b).
Anyway, it's a nice AMV. It did seem a bit slow at parts, and also think that if there had been more contrast/more effects (maybe simple ones, like fades) it would have added to it. (I'm not a person who thinks more effects = better AMV, btw - it totally depends on how the effects were used. Maybe not consistently throughout the AMV, but just in a certain section). Like effects to make it seem like he's dreaming, etc. Anything to contrast - rather than just plain footage. Also wasn't sure if the lyrics to the song were that relevant to the story, apart from the beat being good. (even though you made the lyrics relevant by showing appropriate footage at "take my hand one last time", for example - I wasn't sure if it was a good fit on its own)

Re: King
Nice tip, Vivaldi . I thought there was a trick to it.
Thanks for the feedback
She wasn't, I just liked the scene so much, I ignored the fact she was speaking in it.dazza1008 wrote:1.53: bad lip sync. If she was saying "let's give this another try" it should fit. You can remove frames, duplicate frames to get the proper sync.
There was a spoiler XD. I mentioned it in the video comment and the anime is tagged as spoiler, unless I'm mistaken.Overall, I've not watched Code Geass and didn't get into it when I tried to - but I can see certain things - footage, beat sync and lyric sync - that you did to make the AMV interesting. I spent a good amount of hours skimming through the Audio/video guide here at this site, culminating in a rather nice encode. I've never it in an as complicated manner as that before. So yeah, I WAS a n00b before thatWas impressed by the quality of the footage and the fact you've compressed your audio and exported to XviD (you made yourself sound like a n00b).
Hm, I think it mostly stems from that most videos I like aren't that effect heavy, if they have much beyond overlays and crossfades. Further, I don't really know what to do with effects, because most of the standard ones are incredibly tacky or unsubtle. But I may try playing some more with it in my next project.Anyway, it's a nice AMV.
