Re: A-M-V.org: The Musical (Interest Gauge)
I haven't decided on an absolute deadline actually, but if it takes too long, I'll slap one on. Also as far as the MEP itself, if anyone wants to step up and do credits/intro, that will not count. For example, if you are doing the maximum 2 videos per person, and you decide to do the credits or intro, it won't count towards your own count.Code wrote:Angelyco wrote:Well, since everyone will be cutting their own audio, I would just let people turn in what they want and it would just be as long or short as however many tracks we end up with. But there would have to be an absolute deadline, otherwise people will keep saying their working on their tracks for months and it will never get finished.
And when you mean absolute deadline, MEAN IT. Otherwise you get emotive people taking two weeks to finish a minute long track.
Also, I've decided that I'll officially kick this off the day after christmas. At the very least, the Holidays will be said and done at the point, and whats left, 2010? Anyway, thats how I feel. And thanks for the input on overall MEP track length everyone. If I don't post again before the 24th at best, Merry Christmas.
Oh, and one more thing, if you already got an idea(s) on what track/anime you wanna do, PM me so I can begin jotting this down in my notebook for the project. And I'll list em on the MEP thread when I start it. And we'll go from there.... ^_^

So, since we're officially doing this now, I suppose I'm getting a little anxious about getting to work. I really like the ideas I have.
I think I'll be submitting two: one for comedy and one for tragedy.
Luck be a Lady from Guys and Dolls - Maria Holic
Facade from Jekyll and Hyde - Soul Eater
These... may be subject to change but I doubt it. I really like these ideas.

Ok Nygma and Angelyco,
I got your ideas down. Nygma, you have ur max allowed tracks & Angelyco, I have your one track, but you're still open on the 2nd if you wish to take it. As for me, I'm changing my track a little. I'm still sticking with Epiphany from Sweeny Todd, but instead of Deathnote, I'll use Code Geass instead. So, thats 4 tracks thus far. Since We're on the subject of tracks, as far as allowed time, I'd like input as well. How would you guys feel if track lengths are 30 seconds minimum & 1 minute maximum with an allowed buffer of an extra ten seconds if it doesn't end the way you want it? How do you guys feel about that? Lemme know. I'll make this official with its own thread on Dec. 26th.
And as far as allowed anime uses, unless it's a various, im aiming for 3 uses of the same anime. So if we already have 3 uses of deathnote fr example by 3 different editors, deathnote cannot be used again unless its a various source. And I suppose the same came be applied to soundtracks(for example, if "epiphany", "my friends" & "pretty women" from sweeny todd are being used, then that's it for songs from that movie).

Between 30 and 60 is nice, as it makes this feel less like AMV Hell. I tend to visualize my clips in 30s out of habit because of that.
Also, what would you be interested in as far as the opening and ending are concerned?

Not sure, there's the one idea made known in earlier posts about using "Tuning" from Spamalot & I guess montage of scenes & leading up to the actual beginning of the MEP. And as far as credits go, scenes from all the projects to each credit of editor/music/anime, thats what I think.Nygmatech Enterprises wrote:Between 30 and 60 is nice, as it makes this feel less like AMV Hell. I have a song from a Sakura Taisen musical that I would just love to work with. I think I may be in for sure if I can use it.

Sure, go for it. I've been a lil curious of those animes turned musical over in Japan myself. If it comes from a Broadway,Stage,Movie & it's deemed musical-wise, go for it.ngsilver wrote:I have a song from a Sakura Taisen musical that I would just love to work with. Are you only going to use Broadway Musicals, or are movie musicals like Rocky Horror Picture Show and Moulan Rouge also going to be aloud?
also, if you are going to allow movies, does this also mean you will allow the Disney Musicals? (Which I just realized, South Park, Bigger Longer and Uncut is technically a musical as well.)

I believe I have mentioned this more than once in previous posts, but I'm not limiting this to one type of musical. In other words, It can come from either a Broadway or a Movie Musical, and both are allowed.pyrolord wrote:Are you only going to use Broadway Musicals, or are movie musicals like Rocky Horror Picture Show and Moulan Rouge also going to be aloud?
