Hey

Post by SilversLightning » Fri Jun 09, 2006 1:42 am

I would like to enter, but where do I send the videos I want to submit? Do you have a website or client or something that would work? And are there restrictions on the Divx logo and subs or something? Because I have plenty 30 second or less jokes you can use but I would have some trouble cutting the logo out. I'm just a little confused on the rules since a lot of cons restrict the use of subs and perfer that you cut out the Divx logo at the bottom. And what format does the video have to be in (ie avi wmv etc.) I just need to know that kind of info. Otherwise I think you might like some of the videos I made....

Well its not exactly hard finding anime without subtitles, [MOD: DELETED. Please read the org Forum Rules] And I believe the DivX thing shows up when you use Windows Movie Maker correct? Or is it all? Either way, you dont need Divx. Just google the CCCP codec and download the first one that shows up. Uninstall DivX after youve installed CCCP and the DivX logo wont be there anymore when you use AVI files as the source for editing your videos. Another way is if you use Windows Movie Maker, just go to Tools -> Options and click the compatability tab. Then uncheck all the DivX codecs, and that makes the DivX watermark go away. Note: You may have to restart Windows Movie Maker for the logo to be gone. Hope I helped! ^_^

Thanks, I'll try that. I didn't use subs except when I put them in myself, that's why I was wondering if putting your own subs in were allowed.

Well I finished my first entry for this short contest. I'm gonna make a few more to send in too. I like this contest as it gives me a reason to send in all these old "one-liners" that I make that never have a place in an actual amv.
Gimme a minute, I'll make a cool one....

Post by lordseffy » Sat Jul 01, 2006 1:58 pm

I think its great that you guys are having this AMV contest thing, but no one has any information on where or how to submit any actual entries. Any information on this would be extremely appreciated. Ciao!

KojiroShinkara wrote:Cool. I think I'll go make some more inane videos. DO you want a little studio/artist watermark in the lower right hand corner? (A la AMV Hell 3?)

that would help me alot.... plus if your gunna put the creator name before the video, just incase someone forgets who made the video they can look at the corner... if your gunna make ballots you should have
#, Creator, Song

dont include the anime cause it may spoil it... also this would help so you can have people enter more then 1 video...

lets say i submit 2 videos, 1 using in the end and one using crawling.. the ballot would be something like

#1 - amv4000 - In the End ___
#2 - amv4000 - Crawling ___

and they can cast their vote however your doing it.. but this is also just a thought.. you still got time to decide... as for me, i wont be entering this under the name amv4000... nor tardo...
