The Used - Buried Alive (sorry couldn't help myself since the last song suggested just happened to have the same name)
The Used - On my own
This one is always a good sad song in my eyes. Slow, depressing...yet fits the brooding mood.

The song "Watermark" by Richard Harris is about as depressing a song about a dead lover as I can think of. I don't suppose any of you have heard of it though. It's on the album"The Yard Went on Forever". Rolling Stones "Paint it Black" might work for you.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?
