Creed, Metallica, Misfits, In Flames, Dido, Avril Lavigne are some that works very well with AMVs.
Some of them u think "uuh...sucks". But they're very good if u manage to implent them in an AMV in special ways!

Not a single one of those bands is J-rock. J-rock is Japanese rock, not whiney english stuff.

as for AMV J Rock.... i'd say some of the More Melodic Dir en Grey, Pierrot, B'Z, Merry, Kagrra and Malice Mizer.

Whoops Sorry for the Double post..., But...As for AMV material... it's possible and I'd like to see someone challenge themselves, but it would be really difficult...

Though I did see a <a href=http://www.boredoms.co.uk/>Boredoms</a> AMV with NGE that was awesome....

so anythings possible.
