Mine was the bubblegum crisis dvd. The show that introduced me to anime was Sailor Moon.

Wow, first one I bought... I cant remember!
I know I bought gunsmith cats, grave of the fireflies, and wings of honneamise all at once... all dubbed... but were they the first that I bought... I also got Eva early on... dubbed... I dont think it was first though... and I got the DBZ uncut movies boxset... dubbed... that could have been the first...
If you count fansubs as something I bought, then my first was the sailor moon movies ^_^

Ummm... well... ::embarrassed::, strictly-technically speaking, the first anime I ever bought would be Dragon Pink, VHS, when I was 16.

Cowboy Bebop was the series that actually got me into anime, and the first real anime I ever bought would be... I THINK it was Tenchi Universe Vol. 1, DVD, although I can't honesly remember for certain.

Akira in 1993. VHS of course.

I know, I was 7 at the time... But hey they sold it to me so I guess they didn't give a shit.

The story was a bit over my head at the time but I thought it was cool. The opening with the bike gangs... Yeah I watched that again and again and again...

and parts of the end.

Ranma 1/2 was my first manga, God knows where I went from there. I used to think that Shampoo attacking Ranma with a herbal memory-loss shampoo was strange. Then I saw Di Gi Charat and FLCL.
