Just Came to My Mind...
This may be typical for all of you, but the thought came to my mind.
I was looking at Silky Whip #3, today, and the story for that is entitled
"Blue." This is the first part of a two part storyline that lasts through #4.
What "Blue" is, it is set in the Tokyo of the 1920s. a lovely woman with a dog (which is named, of course, Blue) is sent to Tokyo to be a slave for a wealthy man. The girl's father was wealthy, but some bad decision forced him to offer his only daughter as collateral for a loan. The girl's new master is a major nut job, with the madness to hit on his beautiful half-sister(which she likes, BTW) and he had wanted his rivial's daughter so he could hit on her too! When the girl and Blue are being led to their new room, the man talks with his half sister about killing Blue(the master thinks that Blue would stand in the way). So, with armed men by her side, the half sister goes into the girl's room and a fight soon erupts, Blue makes easy work on the henchmen, but the half sister had the last laugh by shooting Blue continously until he's unconsious. You have to read the manga to fully understand the storyline.

Actually, have you read Re-Take? I was very happy with it; Asuka stayed true to Asuka (if you read, you'll realize what I mean), and it presented an interesting, and much more enjoyable and final, end to Eva. I don't really want to say more for fear of spoiling it for people.
And as for what I said before - there are VERY few instances where a hentai doujinshi, or a hentai for that matter, is actually decent. Most of them serve their purpose as sexual material, but that's all.
And lemons? Please. Most of them are so off and inconsitent with the characters or stories it makes me want to wretch. If the lemons aren't a hentai lemon, which are almost almost ALWAYS off, they tend to lean more towards someone's own interpretation of a character rather than simple observance and reproduction of that character's traits and mannerisms. To top it off, most are written by rank amateurs with no real feel for story, motivation, or character depth. At least doujins tend to have at least minorly talented artists, so that if nothing else one can appreciate the aesthetic quality and craftsmanship of the art.

Hey, if you write lemons, than good on ya'. I'm only stating that I tend to shy away from lemons because they usually are poorly written and only serve to waste time if they are. At least doujins are eye usually candy that can be appreciated for artistic merit, if not always literary.

you are right, few times are lemons spot on, they usualy change characters on pourpose. I have read "re-take" and that is alright, but things like "right here" "left eye" and some others that were so bad my mind locked them away from my memories realy turned me off (scuse pun) to doujin.
and ricky, what are you doing posting in this thread without elaborating on your topic?

I hereby end this topic by saying this. Sometimes you learn more about anime if you read more about and listen to other people's opinions. And that was what you did. I thank you for that.

PS: I am currently in the process of being in the manga stores too much, looking for more info about Eva and Re-Take. I am not sure if there is a thread here about it, thought.
