Hmm...yes, similarities...when was Slam Dunk (that's what he's from, right?) created? YYH was early 90's I believe.

Actually, Slam Dunk's anime series came out after Yu Yu Hakusho by about a year. Slam Dunk Series started: 10-16-1993 and ended: 3-26-1996. Had 101 episodes totally.

10/10/1992 to 01/07/1995 are the starting and ending dates for Yu Yu Hakusho. And had 112 episodes totally.

However, both anime had their roots in manga, and the Slam Dunk anime was a direct translation of the middle of the manga series, which started even earlier in 1990. While Yu Yu Hakusho's manga-base was started in 1991.

Likely, since their creation dates were so close to each other, it's unlikely they were influenced by one another. kuwabara and sakarugi's look is probably just what Japanese saw as a typical manga/anime high school punk at the time.

Lava -Vampire Princess Miyu- (Dark, mysterouis type, loyal)
Sesshumarou- Inu Yasha (little evil, but he has a soft side.. kinda)
Kaoru Hanabishi- Ai Yori Aoshi (he was cool, you know he was)
Sorata Arisugawa -Xtv (Ultimate nice guy, and his confidence isn't annoying like most anime male characters)

But, theres one small fact i should add, i'm a guy and not gay..
but, if i were a girl, i would go this way....

a friend of mine is gay and has a thing for Shinji Ikari- NGE. But he's such a whiny, weak cry baby i'm desprete for my friend to watch more anime so he can get a better guy to drool over.

Hmm, does your friend that Shinji was voiced by a female voice actress? (Her debut role even.) It's probably impossible for a teenage boy to be as whiny as Shinji is in real life. Not so for us women, apparently.

It sounds a little bit like your friend likes anime boys who need to be mothered/protected. I'd suggest Son Goku from Gensoumaden Saiyuki. He sometimes has the most pitiful expressions, and has 3 older guys sort of watching out for him all the time. But generally he's a very spunky little guy:

I remember there's this one hilarious scene in episode 38 or something, where Goku and Gojyou are fighting over who gets to sleep in the only bed they get in the hotel room, and they end up wrestling each other while on the bed. The hotel maid comes in, sees them wrestling, assumes something pedophiliac is going on and runs away.

I wouldn't say Treize tried to hurt him at all. In fact, he did the opposite.

In episode 8, he spared Wufei's life in the sword duel.

In episode 26 (I think?) he saved both Wufei and Duo's lives by ordering people from his own faction to break them out of custody.

And in episode 48, he let Wufei kill him.

I honestly don't see how that's trying to hurt someone. If anyone got burned in this whole mess, it was Treize.

EVA was dubbed, my friend only saw the dubbed version.
Strange, i remember back in school he used to be really military like, completey hated anything closely resembling homosexuality.
He identifies himself as Shinji, he quoted that the world was going to End and he was going to be reborn as Ikari.
of which i looked at him.. then turn and walked away....
The next year he was still going on about it so i decided to convince him that Shinji was gay, and thanks to the cover art of the Japenese DVDs (The one with Shinji and Koaro hugging. its been replaced with the two girls in the same pose on most peoples pc) i actually did it.. He admitted that shinji was gay..
a couple months later.. my friend came out the closest..

I sometimes ponder if i had anything to do with that..

Any angel-winged anime guy works for me

My favorite so far is Folken, from Escaflowne [withOUT the cloak]. He's very mysterious, and I love the voice.

The guys from Weiss Kreuz are pretty hot [KEN

], but that's kind of a given. I don't like the new character designs for the new Weiss Kreuz: Gluhen. They're less bishounen-like. And why did they make a new series anyway? Didn't they all die at the end of the first series?

One more character... can anyone guess who my avatar is? Heh, heh... 8)
