I have many favorites, Like the Evangelion manga and Ghost in the shell, they are very deep and it's impossible to sleep after reading them, and I also like Hellsing, but my favorite I would have to say is Blade of the Immortal. The art style and character design (not to mention the WEAPONS design) is great, and I like how it's not inked, but also the dialogue. There's not just one dialect, one way of talking. The upperclass and nobility talk in a very formal way, while others again talk in a way that modern street gangs talk today, and I think that is great, because they probably did use slang at that time as well, and it helps to get into the story as well because it is a lot more realistic that way. Blade of the Immortal is great and Hiroaki Samura is a genius! Not to mention all the delicious blood and gore we get!

I second that. :)

Actually, any manga made by CLAMP is very good.

As to their best, Cardcaptor Sakura really rates up there.

I would say Chrno Crusade.
It is the first time a story touch and move me like this....
Since May 2004 I'm craze about this anime and that's never stopped!!!
It is sadly not so well-know....But I prefer that than a to much commercial anime(Inuyasha or Dragonball just for exemple O_o)

I have to say... "Naruto"

The action just hypes me up everytime I read the manga or watch the anime! It also gives me great ideas for stories that I want to create! The action is also ready exciting!

Slam Dunk

Is it me or did no one mention slam dunk...actually i don't think it's ever released as anime in the united states...and there are only 6 volume of the manga i can only find in bookstores...anyways the storyline is kinda similiar to naruto, a retard high school freshman decides to try out for the basketball team after he's rejected x times (x is larger than 50) all because the girls are in love w/ people on the basketball team. he turned out to be a real idiotic showoff with no skill but enormous potential and wants to be the greatest basketball player there is. there's also a guy kinda like sasuke in there...cool and draws girls like bees on honey. i think the naruto storyline might be taken from this one since it was released earlier. but if you wanna see great anime you have to look at this one.

Love Hina. The manga is better than the anime because more happens in one panel then occurs in one minute of the anime. Plus the story was WAY better. Reading the Love Hina spring issue was funnier, and had more action, and a better ending then the anime. Not only that but they actully resolved who Keitro made his promise to.

Well in reality without any personal opinion you'd probably have to look at: Peach Girl, Paradise Kiss, and Mars. You can almost thank these 3 for launching Shoujo manga in the US which helped to launch manga in general. You had Sailor Moon a little bit before them and Kodocha and Marmalade Boy a little bit after, but those 3 are the biggest reason that Shoujo manga is now popular in the US.

For Shonen manga it's a bit harder. You have ones from the 90's and then the 2000's that you can give credit. In the 90's Akira, Ranma, Gunsmith Cats, and Oh My Goddess but it's a lot harder to say. In 2000's
GTO, Love Hina and Chobits deserve a ton of credit.

Personaly opinion, I like Remote, haha, but then again I don't read much manga. :)
