Bardiel13 wrote:But the people who wrote this were under the impression that Asuka died. That's false information... uh, kinda since it's a ficitonal TV show . And Gendo's hands are normal as far as I've seen. Remember, when be bruned his hands? Those hands looked pretty normal to me.
First, I can understand Bardiel13's confusion about Gendo's hands. You really only see them one time ungloved until the very end -- in Episode 5 when they examine the Fourth Angel's core. Also, iirc, they don't show his ungloved hands after Ep 5 in the Original Version of the show, only in the Director's Cut episodes and a brief scene in Death & Rebirth of Gendo walking from the hospital (which was a new scene not seen in the TV series, I think).

Second, Bardiel13 probably did not see End of Evangelion. End of Evangelion is an alternate ending, but the one that article writer Talesin Jaffe had worked with, so that's the one he would use in his article.

End of Evangelion hasn't been seen by everyone whose seen the TV series, mostly for the following reasons:

- It is for Mature Audiences (it features nudity, extreme violence, religious themes, and disturbing images, so it is certainly an NC-17 equivalent rating)
- Most people like the Original Ending, and do not want to see another.
- Most people like the Director's Cut Ending, and do not want to see another.

(In hindsight, Jaffe should have presented all the endings, and not stuck with the End of Evangelion ending alone.)

I feel End of Evangelion is a more complete ending. The TV ending shows the thought processes of Rei, Auska, Misato, and Shinji. EoE shows situations that make them realise these things. Pluse, we get closure on a few things. Like Auska getting out of her depression and Rei acting on her own accord. We learn many things that left people wondering at the end. its not "Kauros head gets poped off and its happily ever after." I was left wanted to know more and EoE gave it to me. thats why i like EoE it answers questions

Actually I did see End of Evangelion and it was Asuka who delivered the closing line "I feel sick." Who do you think Shinji was trying to strangle?! Kaoru or something?
Be non-conformist! (Everyone's doing it!)
I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

I answered this question in the Anime Episode Discussion thread on Episode 19:

What are you even talking about? You haven't made sense yet. Are you TRYING to make a thread that has already gone on too long even MORE pointless? I would ask why you think Kaworu has any implication in that scene, but seriously, i dont want to know....read the article, the thread GloryQuestor just linked you to...and...be silent for a bit...

She did die, but she was resurrected at the end of the series. Hope this clears up some confusion.
