Rendering and Previewing with AfterEffects

Post by LocoJoe78 » Tue May 15, 2007 3:07 pm

I am having trouble with Rendering and Previewing footage using AE. I was using the guide that was made by Zarxrax, and here is a portion of said guide.

If you want to preview the part of your video that is in the work area, simply press the "0" key. When you preview, it will render all of the frames in the work area and then play them back at normal speed.

I have all the footage that i want in my composition, But it wont let me preview at all. I've tried to render every single piece of footage that i have seperately by adding it to the render queue, which took me 2 hours to do so, and it still wouldnt let me preview. I dont know what else to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

look around for "ram preview"
it'l be in the time controls box (windows, time controls if you don't already have it up)
afaik, there is no set keyboard shortcut to do ram previews

I'm using 6.5, but it shouldn't be too different if you're using another version
