I have a bizarre problem with Adobe Premier Pro 1 (version 7). It was working fine earlier, but I recently reformatted my computer and re-installed it. It can open the source file and preview it just fine, but when I cut a clip and move it to the timeline, the video somehow gets corrupted; it only shows up as a blackscreen or colored static in the preview window. If I export it, it stays blackscreen/colored static.
I've made an AMV with this same source file before without problems. Moving audio to the timeline works fine. It does this with all the source video I've tried (they're all xvid though, heh), but still image .jpg files work fine. I have the codec for the source file (xvid) installed.
I'll try to find some video files that were compressed with different codecs. In the mean time, how do I get APP to move my video clips to the timeline without corrupting them?

Such files are like that. They might work sometimes, but they won't work reliably, and the best way to deal is to avoid them entirely. Did you click the banner?
