premiere pro 1.5 issues

premiere pro 1.5 issues

for some reason no matter what video i import, the monitor doesn't play it jus all black screen and the audio wrks and for some reason required it to render the work area n thou i never had to b4 i did it n it still doesn't work...if anyone knows the prob plz help!!

what codec are the avi files?

to get codec information right-click on the video file, and choose "properties" and click the tab that says "summery" it should be listed next to compression and if that doesnt work, get a program called GSpot and drop the file in it

xvid...n some mkv converted to avi with xvid as well

its pretty much the same with mkv, either you are going to have to convert it or use the DVDs and follow the guides

use either uncompressed or huffyuv or lagarith for the codec instead... xvid is good for distribution but not for editing...

though all three of those compressions produce large files you might want to take only parts
