Yea the surprised you a bit more in the original series. I agree with Zeph there. the Kyo Ani version is definitely better on most accounts, but I did like the way that they told you that

Excited it got licensed!

I didnt like 2002 kanon I though YUuchi looked like a pado. lol I loved the 2006 Kanon it was so sad ;_;
