yeh that wasnt mine btw lol if you read above, youd know, only the original videos on the forum are.

and just because an amv could star off bad doesnt mean the end couldnt be the best amv youve seen. Its like a cook having some mistakes whilst cooking, the end result could still be amazing.

Plus my videos can't be as bad as some of you are making out, i mean theres alot of good comments i have on the videos on here as well, and by the jist of it some of you seem like known flamers, from what other people are saying. Obviously i know there are better AMVS around, but ive downloaded quite a few off of this place and theres no way in hell my videos are as bad in comparison. I'd also like to know what video editing software typically is used and good, since i use camtasia and im sure theres better.

Or you don't have to take the comments too seriously. It all depends on how much you're willing to develop yourself thru constructive criticism.

Ditto that. Vegas' learning curve is too steep. Final Cut is great, but then again, Macintosh blows.

Although it is true that, although there is some constructive criticism in this thread, there's also a lot of meaningless flame.

My opinion of the videos is this: it's true, they're not great. However, they're certainly not an epic failure. You have potential. I would suggest taking in the decent criticisms here, brush off the rest as poor lifeless losers, and make another video. Also: beta! Give it to one or two people that give good criticisms and make changes. A good video should go through many phases.

They would be a good choice to use if you wanted to show a beta.

Im not as detailed as them but i've been told im good at pointing out useful things ^_~

I hope you're not referring to me, everything I said I said with the intent to make you realize what was wrong with your videos so you could learn from your mistakes.

Anyway, I did watch the video you recommended, and...no. It's not any better than the other video of yours I downloaded. There is no sync at all, man. None. No mood sync, no lyric sync, and absolutely no beat sync. The video has no flow - not only are the scenes random, but the cuts are too and there is just nothing that matches the anime up with the music, in any way. I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm saying it because this is honestly what I see.

Scenes don't change when the music does. The video simply does not match up at all, and it was really, REALLY difficult to sit through this even once. Take for example the scene you have from 1:56-2:03. Tell me if you honestly think that scene should be there for seven seconds straight without any cuts. No movement or anything, not to mention it doesn't make sense in the context of the song at all. I'm sorry, but that's just BAD.

My advice remains the same. You need to learn how to sync in just about every way - with the lyrics, with the general mood of the song, and especially on the beats. You also need to do a little pre-planning, I think - these videos seem random and without any concept, and as such are very boring to watch because they don't engage the viewer on any level.

Also, I'm a Vegas user and I prefer it as my NLE of choice. Calling its learning curve steep is BS - it's only steep if you make it that way. I went straight from WMM to Vegas without any problems at all. It has an extensive Help file that covers everything, and if you're willing to read a little it's not very difficult to learn at all. There's no really difference in terms of power between Vegas and Premiere though, so take yer pick.

lol please dont imply i assumed you, you took the time to type alot so i knew that wasn't flame, i totally understand what your saying, though it sucks that the vid did nothing for you at all >.<. I'll give sony vegas ago see if it improves some of my skills anyway. I know, i'm new here, i wouldnt like some random coming in posting a load of trash (from your point of view) though atleast i know they arent as good as they could be, which is a good thing cos i can improve. But its nice to atleast see some people say i can be good, i just dont like getting posts and pms saying i totally suck without much info on why or how i could improve. I appreciate any feedback though and ill whip out some decent amvs hopefully, anyway.

Hey Ben, you never used Premiere right? I used both. In the end I decided for Premiere because I was used to the handling, design and the "project in project" system (I mean sequences).

Premiere: horrible memory management. Especially when you try to export and so on... I don´t want to list everything you know?

I´ll never recommend Premiere for a new editor. Take Vegas it´s better and cheaper.

Xblacker, just download some good videos here and analyse them. Than you´ll notice what you like about them etc. It gives a good image of what counts in a good amv. Here are two great examples for good and simpel vids:
