oh i won't be flaming you. just i don't use WMM i never have. I use Movie Editor Pro 12 some UK program that i got at staples to do my grandparents 50th aniversary DVD with. and so far it works fine. i just prefer WMV because its alot easier for me to export as and it plays on everyone i knows PC's and Laptops. so really it doesn't make sense for me to change to something that after I'm done i can't view. my editor maybe a bit twitchy bitchy and annoying but it gets the jobs done and viewable. so really no complaints here.CerebralAssamite wrote:
But yeah make amv's for another 2 years or so, you will eventually fade out of wmm and think to yourself, "I want to try another video editing software", you may go to adobe's premiere, or sony's vegas, hell even ulead studio is decent.
However when you do choose one of these applications, you will be slapped in the face harder than a chinese hooker who doesn't get paid.
Mp4 and Xvid, these two codec's will be your bread and butter, when you realise this and accept it into your life, you will understand why all this bullshit was said by everyone here.
Please don't reply flaming me about this or that, i'd appreciate it if you didn't reply at all, then I know you took the time to at least try and fathom this shit i'm typing.
Now... after all that...
"Sit back, relax, slip on you're absorbent undergarments ... and let the mayhem begin"
and if you don't want people to reply then don't post cause its a no brainer that it will undoubtly happen.

Red knight your absolutely right. why if you look back to page 2 i even say " fine fuck it and i scrap the whole thing " but people keep saying "do it this way do it that way do it with this, that, and her. maybe i should be more negative sooner and have people trying to boost me up instead of the positive getting shot down.
but still this thread can end. I'm NOT.. i repeat NOT! doing a mep! I wanted to do a country one because people said that country doesn't go with anime. instead I'll just be making a long mix of country amvs on my OWN!! at most maybe with a friend who i can talk to face to face.
in short everyone can stop edging to starting. or shooting me down and calling me a newb in much more words. I can't really say its been fun but i can say I've learned alot about this place.

But see, you don't understand. When people send you their segments (and I KNOW you aren't going to do this, this is all hypothetical so you'll understand) in WMV, you're going to have to put them on your timeline in your editing program. Now, assuming that even WORKS (WMV is not a codec designed for editing), when you arrange all the tracks and export the final video, the quality is going to look like horse shit because WMVs aren't high-quality to begin with, and re-compressing an already-compressed source is going to make the video look even worse than it did before.JaceCam wrote:i just prefer WMV because its alot easier for me to export as and it plays on everyone i knows PC's and Laptops. so really it doesn't make sense for me to change to something that after I'm done i can't view.
If you don't understand this, I will again refer you to this. Just read it. It applies to AMVs in general, not just MEPs. It ensures you'll get the highest quality visually and aurally. It explains the difference between different kinds of codecs. It explains all the vital information you need to make an AMV. I'm not shitting you, just read it
