They used to have a small selection at Target, but they were all titles whose names were so big that I knew them all (Ex. DBZ, GITS, FMA). That's gone now though.
The only place in San Antonio I use is Best Buy. If they fail to have what I need, I usually go to Amazon.com.
I do recall going to Circuit City once, but I cant remember how good their selection was. I don't know about Walmart.

God I want to murder Hastings...wurpess wrote:I see TX in your location space. If that's the case, if you have a Hastings by you, they also have anime DVDs. That was usually where I got my fix when I lived in TX. *^_^*
They never have a complete series, and never get anything new in. I talked to a manager once to ask when we would get The Melencholy of Hauri Suzumiya or at least the rest of Tsubasas RC (they only had disc one), and he asked why I should care. I told him I'm an anime fan. He calls me a nerd.
/buisness
So now I'm stuck either with the internet or Best Buy in a local town. Though Best Buy is pretty reasonable. ^_^

That sux. The one down the street from my apt in TX was ok. They usually had what I was looking for, and if they didn't, either they would in a week or 2 or they'd order it for me. *^_^* I guess there was more "nerds" in my area.CodeChrono wrote:God I want to murder Hastings...wurpess wrote:I see TX in your location space. x2 - The one here in Houston off I-45 has a fantastic selection!CrackTheSky wrote:Fry's Electronics!
I also recommend Game Stop - right now the local stores have buy 2 used DVDs and get 2 free - just picked up a box set for $20, and some other interesting additions to the collection this weekend.
If you are in the Houston area, there's also Anime Paradise off FM 1960.

Go to... the... MALL! Yeah i know makes me quiver just thinking about it. But I always find anime there in random stores >_>. I went a japanese shop in our mall that was selling lamune and ramune in assorted flavors as well as pocky and some anime series. Needless to say I was sold >_>. I want to buy a katana from that shop badly but they are hella expensive.
Btw Ramune is very good I got one that tasted like cherry but i'm not sure cause I couldn't read the bottle >_>... It was red tho.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Kansas and Illinois aren't that far apart. What is the name of the mall, and the name of the Japanese store.
For me, i go to borders. I bought Neon Genesis Evangelion (the first movie), and as someone on the Snafu forums said, "Its a giant f***ing mind rape." I'd have to say that I agree with them. I only saw 2.5 hours on NGE in the form of a movie, but I am now mentally scarred for life.

I go to the one in Dallas alot
Its one of the best places I know to buy anime and electronics.
Bestbuy and Circuit city are cool too but i don't buy much anime from them that often.
BTW
If you are close to a Big Lots, you should check the DVD section sometimes.
Alot of the ones I go to have been getting alot of anime released by Bandai at 3 bucks each.
Its all random though and you probably won't find the full series without going to differen't stores.
Some of the ones I bought are
Saber Marionete
Big O
Infinite Ryvius
Planets
Yukikaze
Crest of the stars
.Hack and Hoop Days
