Interlace issues with AMVapp

Post by Nets_VC_15 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 2:24 pm

I used the AMV App to rip DVD footage from my NFL DVD.
Anyway, I got my 6 VOB files and put them in a folder. I put the firs one through DGIndex with no problems. I fixed the interlacinging by chaecking th field order and matching it up. After that the footage was fine, I even edited it through Sony Vegas to take out uneeded interviews.

I started to work on the second vob in DG Index. I disabled the audio, as it saved, there was nothing under the Video type section. i brought it too VDM, I checked the field order and both videos were the same. I can definatly tell its interlaced by the lines that show up during movement. What do I do?

dgindex is not a deinterlacer, it does nothing to fix or remove interlacing.

to get rid of interlacing you need to either use something like TFM (avisynth) or one of vdub's deinterlacing filters

maybe i typed it a bit unclear.

After ripping my DVD in DVD Decrypter, they became 6 diffrent VOB files. I took the first VOb file and put it into DGIndex. I disalbed it and saved it, during like the 20minutes, it will usually say under the information if its progressive or interlaced. The first Vob was an interlaced file as it said.

I brought it to VDM and i checked the field order, corrected it, and the video looked better. I saved it and edited it in SV to take out uneeded crap.

On the second go around, I brought the second VOB file into DGIndex, disalbed the audio, and then saved it. This time, it never said anything about progressive or interlace. I brought it to VDM where I could clearly tell it was interlaced just by pausing a frame and seeing the lines. I went to check the field order, in that process, both images that you compare looked exactly the same. Usually one looks beter then the other and you use that to correct field order.

My problem is, even thought I can tell its interlaced, I don't know how to correct the field order. Both images, when checking the field order, look exactly the same. Is there another method to removing interlacing that I don't know about?

use this
TFM(d2v="path to your file.d2v", order=-1, slow=2)
specifying the d2v parameter allows TFM to get extra info from the d2v file
order=-1 means that it uses avisynth to tell it what the field order is
slow=2 makes TFM slower but gives you a better result
