ACEN 08 AMV Wars Hentai Competition now with winners!!!

You heard me right. It's happening again! The AMV Wars will be taking over the AMV Room at ACEN for our own brand of hentai entertainment.

The catch is, we're in need of editors.

Please read the 2nd post for an important update regarding the competition.

How this will be judged:

- At the event at the convention a panel of judges will be selected from the audience. We will try to select a panel of Editors and non-editors alike as well as our guest judges.
- The judges will judge each video with the following in mind:
1. Audience Appeal
2. How well the video stuck to the theme
3. How well the secret ingredient was used

Due to a certain lack of enthusiasm for the chosen format for this competition I have elected to alter the requirements slightly. Essentially, I still want to see who among all of you can come up with an idea based off of the theme chosen by one of my staffers and make a video to it between now and the convention.

That's right, the moment you accept this challenge (PM'ing me or posting such in this thread will work) I will send you the link to our secret ingredient and inform you of the theme. You will then have from that time until the con (depending on what method you use to get your video to me) to complete your video and send it in.

How the Online IC will play out:

- The Secret Ingredient will be offered in a widely accepted HQ format that most of you should know how to edit with
- Each editor will receive a link when they accept the match that will allow them to download the SI
- At the same time each editor will be given the theme.
- From that point forward each editor will have as much time to make their video as they feel they need
- The deadline to receive the finished product will be Friday of the con (if you are going to be at the con and are willing to hand me a disk with your finished video on it) or the Tuesday before the con (if you are going to send me a link or upload the video via FTP)

When you are done with your video simply let me know along with what method you would like to use to send it to me. I'll send FTP info if requested, otherwise any direct links will also work.

I'll accept videos in just about any format. I will NOT accept videos in WMV, MOV, or RM. I would prefer MPEG2 or AVI (huffy, divx, xvid, most codecs are fine) though I suggest you make sure it is high quality. I will accept h.264 mp4 encodes, however I would prefer not to as they are difficult to properly convert into other formats.

As stated in the post above, your videos are only required to follow the theme and use the secret ingredient given to you. You may use any source you see fit beyond that. Though keep in mind this is a hentai competition, so hentai should be your primary source.

I am still willing to accept anyone who would like to try editing at con. If no one steps forward for that then we will simply turn the night into one spicy hentai panel that shouldn't exist, with of course the premier of these new creations and the judging of said videos following there after. Judging will still work the same as described in the post above.

I know its not hentai, but theres an AMV I made that has never been able to make it into any Competition because of content closely related to Hentai.

I'd like to have them by 11 PM Central time. That way I have enough time to convert them to the proper format.

Thumb drives should be fine. I haven't met one that doesn't work on my machine yet.

I'll be there for sure to check out the work. Hopefully, I could get some pointers from other editors who are well-versed in convert Mac-based AMVs for suitable formats for Con submission. I will be go at it full force for Youmacon after the workshops offered at ACen.
