Looks absolutely fantastic. :3 Once a few video glitches are fixed it'll be supremely excellent. ^-^ ...Please tell me we'll be doing a Salad 3? *wishful*
Spoiler :
Tom Lehrer - the Elements vs Edward Elric = mine. ;)
Yes, there will be a third. It shall be called AMV Salad 3: Three Bean Casserole. Keep an eye on this thread around August for the details on a new thread and THEME announcement. By that, I mean there will be a general concept but I'll still need regular Salad clips to go in as well.

Hey everyone! First of all, sorry Deuce for not being on here so long, the army is a real killer... Being a driver in the army is not as easy as it sounds either... But I see I came back right in time to check out the beta :D So far, it looks very funny and entertaining. However, I have a few suggestions. I know it's kinda rude of me to not being here all this time and then suddenly give you suggestions, but I still would like to express myself.

First of, the opening idea is good, but I would edit it a bit more and make it more fast phased, more things going on. And if you need me to change the "video" thing in the rating, I can do it easily, if you still can edit it. Also, I would suggest you to speak REALLY fast there in the beginning, it would sound so much funnier, or at least make it at double speed, if you don't want to record it again.

Second, the transition between the clips is the same again. I would suggest changing it to something different. I know AMV Hell used many good ideas for the noise transitions, but it doesn't mean we can't come up with something else. If you want, I can try to think of something fast, because this Sunday I'm going back to the army.

Everything else is very good. The submissions are very funny and whoever made the "it sucks to be me" submission is simply a genious. I laughed on the floor quite long after seeing it

And maybe I can make a few more submissions, as long as you'll except them.

*raises hand* I second those suggestions.

Wow! It must be tough work, huh? That's cool!

Hadn't thought of that, but it sounds like a good idea. It would lend the beginning more energy.

O.O *sniff* Thank you!

(btw, deuce, I forget in which file type I submitted the Princess Tutu clip, but I could try to resend. The video quality wasn't so hot. Sorry about that! ^^*)

I telled a fib...

I beta-tested the AMV Salad 2 last night at AMA.

A couple of observations:
* a few of the clips generated some "AWWWWW"...in that  kind of way.
* whoever said the Imogen Heap / Gundam thing was played out didn't tell the AMA audience.
* ...SMOKE!

As soon as the end credits get tacked onto the end, it's going to Otakon for the actual premiere. Word is also getting around about the Salad project... :D

I'm glad it looks like AMA enjoyed it! But what does that observation mean? Is that good? ^^*

It just means they weren't expecting things like the girl "touching herself" or the things going on in the "you's a Ho" clip. It's like when something is "wrong but funny...but wrong,...but..."

...yanno? Not overtly offensive but just over the line enough to incite a reaction. I'm not sure how else to explain it. Those moments should give people something to remember, though... ;)

Thanks! You broke that down quite nicely.

UPDATE:

I think it was suggested to me by InspZenigata, but whatever the case I have submitted BOTH AMV Salads to be shown at Anime Weekend Atlanta in Spetember.

The initial response was, "Interested but conflicted." Apparently they were concerned about the population of "AMV Hell follow-ups" as well as their "Short Attention Span Theater AMV constest." I assured them that we are not in league with the inspiration behind this project, especially since their latest is going for the jugular in terms of offensiveness. Furthermore, I explained the entire background of our MEP (dating back two years already).

There won't be an official panel since I can't afford to attend AWA, much less travel and hotel so close between Otakon and NekoCon. I suggested they screen both videos together as a "block" of programming. I don't see how they couldn't afford one hour among TV-14 viewing times, but we shall see. I linked them to Megavideo for viewing as well as to the AMVS2 trailer with the option of accepting a download link for the latest.

Hopefully, AWA will become the newest addition to the annual AMV Salad tour circuit...
