I'd like to answer your question but I'm going to ask you to formulate it better. As I don't know what exactly your getting at.

It's hard to know, quite honestly. Although there are usually tell-tell signs.

1) Downloaded videos usually have horrible quality and watermarks.
2) Pirated software usually can be realized just based on knowing the person. If somebody has high-market software (costing in the thousands), and is still in high school, you can usually mark them as pirates.

On the other hand, I was in high school and had full use of Adobe Premier Pro and Creative Suite software through summer grant programs my school had with the local chamber of commerce, where they purchased me the software in exchange for creating whatever they needed during that summer (videos, posters, flyers, webpages, ect). My job at the newspaper also nabbed me Indesign software (so I could work from home on pages in my own spare time). Some people also come from wealthy families, and can actually afford the software.

Well trust me, if you use THAT to make AMVs, people with any technical will know. How? By being not blind, for one.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Making AMV's in and of itself is illegal. It really doesn't matter where you get the footage from, it's illegal regardless. But getting footage from the tube is really not a good idea because the quality will totally suck.

That and we kinda have a rule that says not to use footage from other AMVs.
