Media Player Classic. Can't Switch Subs Off?

Well, I went into the player and i right clicked and did

Filter>DirectVOBSUBS>Properties>MISC then checked HIDE SUBS. That turned off subs for good. So that fixed my sub problem I guess.

As for the brightness issue that I've had for a long time, klite codec fixes it but it only works for media player classic.

The brightness issue is more than likely due to the video renderer. You can change that in MPC's options.

View->Options->Playback->Output

Can you do that with vlc player?

I also seem to have this issue where for example, my friend plays a video on his computer and I play the same video. We play it at the same time but for some weird reason my video slowly lags behind so that when we're finished with our 20 min video or so, it is like 15-30 seconds behind. My video that is.

Any reason why this is happening?

Btw, that lag seems to happen a lot more when I'm downloading something, especially on torrent.

That lag would probably be your HDD not being able to keep up with reading your video and writing the data in the torrent at the same time.

Yeah but what about when I'm not downloading?

Also, it didn't happen before, it started happening about a week or so ago. At the time I had some problems transfering stuff from one hd to another without the transfer getting stuck. Then I opened the pc case up and reconnected my harddrive and it is okay again but I just get the video lag problem though.

The harddrive also goes offline as well......it just went offline just now while I was playing a video on it.......stupid SOB.

I've never heard of a HDD going 'offline.' That shouldn't happen. =\

I'm not saying that a new HDD will fix this problem you're having, by the way. I'm just saying you probably should get a new HDD...

Isn't what you're saying a bit counterproductive?

A new HDD might not fix the problem, but I should get a new HDD. What's the use of a new HDD if it won't fix the problem?
