Nevermore

Post by TokyoU15 » Fri Nov 29, 2002 1:06 am

Anyone like these guys? Some pure, melodic/prog. metal here! Awesome stuff and I highly recommend 'em to anyone. I've been listening to A LOT of Iced Earth and Nevermore lately. AMAZING bands! I love 'em!

So, what are you guys listening to? (Keep it metal)

I only listen to metal if it has some good AMV attached to it ^_^
Normally I prefer HipHop and chilly stuff ;-Q

Ooooh, Iced Earth! I own their newest album, Horror Show, and I love it. As far as other music goes, I listen to pretty much anything. I'm sort of strange that way. I mean right now, as I'm typing this, I'm listening to Mindless Self Indulgence. That band is a genre into and of themselves. But here's some stuff I like listening to (i'm just going to open up my CD case and list off CDs :P):

Good Charlotte
Taproot
Coal Chamber
Paul Oakenfold
White Zombie
Dave Mathews Band
The Vines
DJ Rap
Puddle of Mudd
Nickelback
The Hives
Incubus
3 Doors Down
Orgy
Metallica
Goldfinger
Disturbed
A Perfect Circle
Prodigy
The Bloodhound Gang
U2
Primer 55
Apocalyptica
Enigma
Alien Ant Farm
Slipknot
Rage Against the Machine
Adema
Trance[]Control
The Union Underground
Drowning Pool
The Crystal Method
Tool
Crazytown
Crash Test Dummies
Dope
Oleander
ATB
Monster Magnet
Static-X
The White Stripes
Stone Sour
Everclear
Daft Punk
Box Car Racer
Rammstein
Kittie
Godsmack
Ace of Base
Megadeth
Sevendust
The Offspring
Linkin Park
Korn
NIN
System of a Down
Rob Zombie
Holst
Mozart
Marilyn Manson
The Phantom of the Opera
Garbage
Squirrel Nut Zippers
Gravity Kills
Dust for Life

So yeah, I own way too many CDs...and not all of them are metal, so I guess I didn't follow the rules of the post, either.

lol, sure didn't! I love Horror Show, great music writing!

Ya know, out of that whole list I only saw 2 metal bands there. (Metallica and Megadeth)

I like some of the bands you listed, but not a huge fan of alternative.

Hey, Ace Of Base made some pretty tight pop music. Better than most of the shit nowadays, for sure.

Indeed. Ace of Base isn't bad at all. And right now, kthulhu has 1111 posts.

But Iratus, you don't have any Blind Guardian? And you like Iced Earth, but no Demons and Wizards? Shame.

Blind Guardian and Nightwish rule the metal world. Along with all those other good metal bands... :?

Yep, and again no Oomph! too.

By the way, Nightwish don't rule anything. Oomph! definitely rule the metal world :p.

Nevermore is pretty awesome. If you think that seven-string guitars mean dreadlocks and whiny lyrics, you need a quick spin around _Dead Heart In A Dead World_, aka the Jeff Loomis Digital Clinic on Heavy Guitar. He's filled Pat (Cannibal Corpse) O'Brian's shoes pretty nicely.

I've got three Nevermore videos out now (all links are to AMV DC), and another one or two in the near-term production queue. They're definitely not used nearly as much as they deserve, especially their older material (pre-_Dreaming Neon Black_).

current CDs:
Skyclad, _Old Rope_
Death, _Scream Bloody Gore_
Sodom, _Mortal Way Of Live_
X TV OST 1
Daylight Dies, _No Reply_
Sentenced, _The Cold White Light_
In Extremo, _Sunder Ohne Zugel_
Hypocrisy, _Hypocrisy_
Dark Tranquillity, _Damage Done_ <-- if you don't own this, you are WRONG.

Filled Pat's shoes.....dude, I've been following corpse for 2 years now and they've been with Pat since Gallery, and Jeff wasn't one of their older guitarists either. *Heads to CC site*

Blind Guardian is pretty awesome, haven't heard Demons and Wizards yet. Sounds interesting, but it seems like Jon Schaffer is doing all the writing and unless he takes a different approach than he does with Iced Earth, I wont find much in the music.

Kai, I'm going to download your vids right now...Hope I'm not disapointed!

Oomph! is fucking badass. Only 3 guys, too. Children Of Bodom is pretty damn awesome, if you like black speed/gothic metal.
