Re: unFolded
yea, it would've been better without the effects |: Sorry. :\
They're way too techno-ish for the show.

Not to sound rude, but it seems like all you Re-evolution people have such a strong need to spam pointless effects. ~_~
hmm. I would have really liked this w/o all the random effects. the fight scenes were just really off in my eyes, you could have made them less hectic so they would just flow better. hmm, but minus all that I did enjoy some parts

Good, but ditch the text. It's distracting and only hurts the overall video.

aw, now that's an unfair generalization ;DTearx wrote:Not to sound rude, but it seems like all you Re-evolution people have such a strong need to spam pointless effects. ~_~
many of us use little to no effects on the average video.
Oh well, keep your eyes peeled. Though I am one of the group's rawer editors, I wouldn't recommend watching my videos to get a feel for that. But if I actually did a head count at least 8/20 members in our studio would choose to edit something effectless over something with heavy technical work.
Back to the subject of the video:
As usual, Katzie, your technical work is very interesting and well done, but I have to agree with many of the others above me. I feel that the editting style was not suited to that anime. I'm not a fan of the text (mainly just distracting). The sync, however, is great.

Half of us are effectless editors too. Putting us in one style or group is pointless since we're all our own editors with our own style and preference. There's 20 of us, and the styles vary as much as the individuality of each of us do. :p

Look here. This is how I see it. A group of unknown creatures with matching uniforms arrived on earth. Now with their "cool/cheesy looking effects" and groovy music they plan to take over the world. Now this could be completely true, or it simply means I watched way to much Independence Day once it came on a few of times the other day. ;P apologies if I came off as rude earlier. Its just how I am seeing this so far. I would be completely glad if you guys prove me wrong.. Till then I stand by what I said.StrawberryKiss wrote:Tearx wrote:Not to sound rude, but it seems like all you Re-evolution people have such a strong need to spam pointless effects. ~_~

I´d really like to know with which programms you´ve edited your amv.
Adobe After Effects I guess.
it was cool but cuz of the effects it looked so heartless... no emotions but great editing in my opinion

lol what? invading? teehee~ hmm we post our vids here to have some critique on it so that we will learn and improve our next project, err.. cuz on YT its really rare for us to receive critiques. >.< so we are here to learn and improve. and yeah you watch way too much independence day XD aha~
Okay now lets get straight to the point about you guys talking about "my" "THEME AND EFFECT" usage in which you guys are pointing out. *please take note of the word "MY" and not "OURS" * im pertaining to some people generalizing our group as a EFFECT SPAMMER USER*.
I admit Failure, you heard me, Particularly on "CHANGING THE MOOD/ATMOSPHERE/NORMS OF THE ANIME", my main purpose for doing this amv is to do those things, to change the perspective of what we normally watch as a bloody/dark/grudgy type of anime. I admit, i failed on those parts, BUT please do understand "I Didnt use pointless effect" For I strongly believed that in doing those effect, i haved changed the perception from bloody to techno, but it didnt really work as hell aha~.
My pwend told me that i should changed some parts of it but i didnt complied to her great opinions/ideas. I felt that what my pwend told me was correct and I realized on my own way that this will not work, for the theme really didnt match the anime , i really thank her from the bottom of my heart for everything that she have told me was really out of care and Professionalism, it just that i didnt obey to what she have told me, in which i think brought downfall to my video.
honestly I really didnt liked the last part, that's where you will really feel that im disappointed na~ its meaningless to continue it so i hurriedly finished and cut the song, you will realize it by Looking at the duration of the song that i haved used.
I Diligently read all of your comments and all i can say is that....
Im happy to have posted my video here for i really learned a lot and i believed that all of your critique are what we call "Constrcutive Comments"
I will keep all of those in my mind for my next project,

Re: unFolded
As is usually the case, I did not read the above commentary. I like to be fresh when I view a video, so I try not to read developed threads, and usually aim to be the first or one of the first commenters.
I don't get it. I don't understand what you were trying to do or say. At first, I thought it was a convention intro. Then I thought maybe it was just credits placed inside the video, which seems to be a common theme for editors coming from different cultural backgrounds (on the Org, this is generally a no-no, and something I personally despise with a burning RAGE), then I just didn't know what to think. Was it effect whoring for the sake of effect whoring, was it horror, was it romance, was it... I don't know. I spent all my time trying to figure out the point, or if there was one, and if there was, how I was supposed to feel about the video. In the end, I just felt confused, empty, and like I had wasted two minutes of my time.
So, this is killing me, I gotta know, was there a point, or was the point to make wonder what the point was? Is this a treatise on the very essence of art? Or was this just you messing around in AE?
I'M SO LOST.

To tell you honestly, i found this very touching and im very happy to hear this for the first time and it sounds like... i cant explain it, i found myself firstly hating that above comment, then it made me wonder for some minutes and then my face suddenly went "AHHHH~~ teehee~" and i laughed, well not laughed but giggled.
anyways what i want to point out on the video, is to make a new perception on the anime kara no kyoukai which is a bloody one, but after reading your comment, ive realized, well it HIT me honestly and this is again the first time that it happened to me so strongly, the part of "Is this a treatise on the very essence of art?", i honestly didnt intend to destroy the anime, for the anime used for that video was one of my favorites. All i wanted to do was to experiment like : "What will happen if this will be applied to this" type of experimentation but it turned out to be, like *from the great viewer's point of view* "Well it was nice but, what was it all about? its like *********, and yet its like *********** some kind of *******" thing." I deeply apologize for that part, but From the bottom of my heart, all what i wanted to do was for the viewers to enjoy my "NEW STYLE/EXPERIMeNTATION" application, but it turned out to be like, im not taking this passion seriously. I am deeply enlightened by your words kionon, Please, Yorushiku Onegashimasu *bows down* from now on, i found your comment striking and true to what you really want to imply. Well i dont want to look inferior, but isnt Art about "Looking for a new meaning/perception about something" and that's what i intend to do, in which i didnt succeed.
I want it to be a techno one but it didnt work. From now on, everytime i make a video, i would look again and again on this comments and ill take some of them into consideration in making my vids for they really strucked me and affected me. Thank you. Thank you, Thank you very much.
