AX AMV Contest 2009, and the winners are!
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
Here are the results of the Anime Expo Anime Music Video Contest 2009:
Best of Action: “Fate/Eternal Inferno” by Millenium Strife
Best of Drama: “Death Note Rhapsody” by BaitMaster
Best of Comedy: “We Need You” by Vlad G. Pohnert
Best of AMTV-Pro: “Dance Dance Celebration” by TERYH1984 (Kuok Hor)
The winner for AX Staff Favorite is: “We Need You” by Vlad G. Pohnert
The winner of the Creator’s Choice award is: “Lord Of The Anime” by RiderG (Victoria Galietta)
Finally, the Anime Music Video selected by the audience in attendance at the screening at the convention is:
“Death Note Rhapsody” by BaitMaster
I would personally, as well as on behalf of Anime Expo and the SPJA, like to congratulate all of this year winners and again express our thanks to all who entered this year’s contest.
I would also like to again express my personal thanks to Monty Oum for allowing us to again show his Dead Fantasy series in the Pre-Show as well as premiering the latest versions of episodes 3,4 & 5.
Many attendees and several staff members have asked if I would put together and post a list of the AMVs I placed in this years Pre-Show presentation. I am in the process of compiling this information in a formal list and will post it in the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience.
I would like to give special thanks to the team that helped tabulate the votes until 5:45 in the morning so we would have the results to present at the rescreen. So thanks to Arianna, Crystal, Scott, Jen, Anneke and Delena.
Additionally, very special thanks to Nikki for the behind the scenes administrative support (not to mention the very long hours and assitance with quality control on the DVDs). Without her critical assistance, this years contest would have not been nearly as successful as it was.
Thank you all for helping to make this year’s AMV Contest the biggest and most successful ever!
We look forward to an even better year next year.
Sincerely,
Michael G. Underwood
