Bakadeshi are you going to post yours?
It's the only one I'm still waiting to get
Also: it seems my favorites never win. I really liked Circles and Tasukete. Very good job to to both of you that did those

You've found more than I have, then. I'm trying get links to all this year's finalists. If anyone can point me to the ones I'm missing (or sees any errors in what I've got so far) I'll edit this post to hopefully provide a full list. Here is what I've found so far (in their screening order from the contest).DarkBasilisk wrote:Bakadeshi are you going to post yours?

Wow! I won an award without even being accepted as a finalist?
Is this a new record or something?
I updated my profile with the video.

Yeah, and I edited it. My bad, dunno how I got that wrong.. but I think I had the entire romance category screwed up in my head for some reason.AMVorgasm wrote:

No, thank you!Scintilla wrote:A big thank you to Vic, Jeff, Amanda, and all the other associated staff and volunteers (especially those who counted votes on Saturday after the contest; that must be a pretty thankless job) who made this contest come together! The AMV contest is always one of the highlights of the con for me, and this one certainly didn't disappoint.
It was a pleasure sitting through nine hours of AMVs, re-editing the AMV Contest Intro, dealing with seating 2000+ people, counting ballots (which really isn't that hard if you do it long enough) and best of all, following Vic's vision of providing a great experience for the audience. Honestly, I am in awe of how dedicated he is to making sure that everyone has something resembling a good time for two hours. Looking forward to 2010! Get editing!

You did the intro this year also? are you ever going to release last years?gambitt wrote:No, thank you!Scintilla wrote:A big thank you to Vic, Jeff, Amanda, and all the other associated staff and volunteers (especially those who counted votes on Saturday after the contest; that must be a pretty thankless job) who made this contest come together! Re: The Otakon 2009 thread
Yep, I updated the intro to contain this year's finalists, fix some holes and goofs, and provide new graphics. It's apparent to the AMV Staff, by comments that we've received and have seen posted here, that the intro is encouraging people to enter the contest. It's been able to breathe new life into the competition and has become an additional bonus for making the finals. The last thing we want to do is to take that special something away by making it easily obtainable, regardless of when it premieres or what AMVs it features. It may change every year in some way, but the core of the video is the same. I'm so incredibly humbled by how passionate people are about it, and I will not hesitate to whip out my iPhone and show it to anyone that wants to see it wherever I am, but it was made for Otakon and because of how important the contest is to me and the Otakon AMV Staff it will remain a symbol of "making it" until its eventual retiring.Pwolf wrote: You did the intro this year also? are you ever going to release last years?

I don't want to drag this topic out any further but I just wanted to clarify on this point because I've gotten so many questions about this; I figure this is the best place to state the reasoning behind my answer.
I damn well hope I get this much attention when I put out my own AMVs again!
