Favourite AMV moments of all time
Not sure if this is already done before, lock and burn it if so.
As the title says, here you can mention your favourite sections of your favourite amvs. Specific scenes that gave you the creeps, animations matched perfectly with the audio - whatever made you love the amv you just watched. To say the truth, i don't find a good reason why i'm creating such a topic. It seems like promoting other amvs. But, what the hell.
So, let's make a good start with my favourites. In random order of course, will add some more later if i can (and if this thread continues without being locked)
Koop - Euphoria
3:40 - 3:44 (The scene with that guy falling - i've never seen rahxephon, but from the first time i saw that thing with the "i must be dreaming" lyrics from behind, totally gave me the creeps.)
Decoy - Naruto's Technique Beat
1:23 - 1:27 (The best character intro i've seen in my life. Neji starting his byakugan and a perfectly fitting music from behind)
3:22 - 3:25 (Epic scene is epic. Watching a whole desert attacking someone, with the same awesome song surrounding you can surely make you go WHOA)
Funky-kun - Just for a Day
1:15 - 1:17 ("But you've got no destination"... Hohenheim standing all alone - great scene.)
Einhänder - Naruto's World
2:42 - 2:48 (Darkness and then Light... what can i say...)
Inertia - The Narutrix
1:44 - 2:11 (Just saying "perfect" isn't enough. A song i've been searching for years -Rob Dougan's "I'm not driving anymore"- combined with the most stylistic scenes.)
_tayo_ - Part of You, Shadow of Me
1:57 - 2:07 (Awesome effect turning everything into colours and very dynamic scenes of screaming and mute action.)
Alexboy - In Aeternum
2:40 - 3:24 (When you thought it was over, colours rush the screen and the song creates one of the most awesome scenes in history of amvs.)
Chiikaboom - Resonant Discord
0:53 - 1:20 (A pile of almost static images, that somehow pass a terrific emotion of despair and loneliness. Instant fav.)
ExSphere - TheOne
2:50 - 3:02 (That's a personal fav. I don't know why, but the music in that spot is extremely smoothing and the scene with the colour of the sky changing fitted quite nice imo)
ExSphere - The Dreamer
2:55 - 3:02 and 3:29 - 3:36 (Two superb moments : one uplifting(don't even know what that means ) and one of the cutest ever. Gives me the creeps every time)
Fizziks - Clan Warfare! Pwnage?
3:20 - 3:40 (One of the funniest moments ever. Light thinks of killing Shinn, just when L starts suspecting him realizing his character in Counter Strike isn't moving at all, lol..)
Aggressor - Code Ecchi
2:33 - 2:36 (You all know what scene i'm talking about - at the very end, the one that definitely isn't what you thought it is!)
Vann-sasuke - Perfect You Are (P.Y.A)
1:16 - 1:28 (Perfect match with the lyrics... "and when i'm lost, you search for me..." showing some creepy animation quite fast - beautiful)
Nekoteo - Fista(Fire Starter)
2:14 - 2:38 (Scenes of places burning and amazed faces and... everything red and... tension and.. wow)
And finally, my favourite moment of all times.
Sierra Lorna - In my Mind
3:18 - 3:30 (As we say in my country, those seconds do not even exist. They are... what can i say... Eyes closing according to the rhythm and then.. the light... everyone looks up... I almost cry everytime i see it )
Well, your turn now.

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
Intro to Reflections of Style 2. That got me very very interested in 3D animation and it really paved the way for one of the coolest MEPs in my opinion.
True Fiction by metro, the scene when the music goes all quiet and it feels like a "deep breathe before the plunge".

So what you're saying, basically, is that Greek men are pussies that cry at nothing?Animated wrote:Sierra Lorna - In my Mind

Anyway, to answer the question, my favorite AMV moments are in any of the AMV4000 HMVs. Just before the naked chicks appear. I swear, I pop a boner every single time.

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
Pulverize Productions - The Darkest Vicinity
1:44 - 1:55 (Song is getting to it's best and sync is great)
alkampfer81 - Hold Me Now
0:10 - 0:18 (I was thinking which moment from this AMV was the most memorable and it end up beeing the first one)
Copycat Revolver - Waiting For February
1:18 - 1:38 (drums and jumping/falling are nicely synced)
Nya-chan - Boure
2:10 - 2:22 (That jump is just sooo nicely synced)
Emong - Gothic Poetry
0:00 - 0:50 (greatly made piano effect)
Chiikaboom - Chronicles Of The OCD Goth Cowboy Jesus Future Overlord
1:09 - 1:15 (nice change in pace and cool riding scene)
Koopiskeva - Momentum
2:53 - 3:05 (Reason why I consider this to be the best 5cm AMV, this scene is giving so much energy to the whole AMV ...)
Nostromo - Vectorman
1:23 - 1:38 (Just another movement sync and fitting lyp sync)
Kevin Caldwell - caffeine encomium
0:36 - 3:07 (I just cannot take only one scene, this whole AMV is one memorable sync after another)
I should stop using word "sync" so much :-/

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
I have a ton of favorite moments in videos that would take too long to farm through so I'm just gonna list the one that popped into my head when I saw the topic:
Zarxrax - IC3 - Don't Say
01:52 - When she puts her hand to her face. I can't tell you why I love it so much, but I still get chills to this day when I see it. I don't care if it was accidental sync or just random. It works so goddamn well and it's the main reason I continue to watch that video (though the rest is also quite good)

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
I have a lot of favorite moments, mostly from older videos. Ordered alphabetically:
AbsoluteDestiny - Aim for Victory - 3:59-4:08
The timing of the chime cascade to the explosion chain made this one.
Aokakesu Digital - Odorikuruu - 2:01-2:07
The audio shift is just jarring enough to be ear-catching, without being distracting.
Borihiei - Something Wicked This Way Comes - 2:40-3:31
I love the way this one builds. And the payoff is great, too.
dokidoki - Right Now Someone Is Reading This Title - 2:35-2:42
Best segment of the video. No questions asked.
JCD - Strike On - 3:09-3:14
I like the timing on this sequence, and the choice of shots.
Jigoku no Video - Nausicaa, the Reluctant Warrior - 4:18-4:24
Timing this one right would take some effort even today. The fact he hit it on analog equipment, on the first try is incredible.
Kevin Caldwell - Phantom of the Opera - 3:24-3:31
The scream. THE SCREAM.
Kiarrens - Ouran Day - 3:06-3:20
This is the sequence that made me willing to watch this series, and I'm glad it did.
Kusoyaro - Glory of Love - 3:31-3:34
This transition was absolutely incredible.
ngsilver - The Checkered Flag - 3:00-3:30
I love how well this one is timed.
norskotaku - Reflections of a Goddess - 5:56-6:30
I like the way this one builds.
Otaku Outpost - Silent Lucidity - 3:09-3:30
This effect is still one of my favorites
Paper Tiger - Battle Chess - 3:31-3:35
The timing at the end of the video sold this moment.
Pwolf - Mitternacht - 3:17-3:30
The timing here is so spot-on, I frequently rewind to watch it again.
Scott Melzer - All Star - 1:35-1:53
This dance sync always makes me chuckle.
Skyebox - Learning to Fly - 1:00-1:04
Another just plain great transition.
Vlad Pohnert - Memories Dance - 5:38-5:50
The way this video comes full circle is just excellent.
Vlad Pohnert - Transcending Love - 1:29-1:37 and 2:49-2:53
This was the first video I saw that employed a lot of character masking. To make it look so natural in these two shots just put my jaw on the floor the first time I saw it.

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
There are so many, but I'll list just a few.
ShonenDizzyCow - My Fading Voice, Your Distant Heart
The whole sequence leading up to this point, but mainly 4:05-4:07.
JaddziaDax - Stargazing
I know LantisEscudo mentioned Otaku Outpost's Silent Lucidity which Katie mentioned inspired parts of Stargazing. One of these is 2:49 - 3:12. I love how the segment finishes.
Douggie - AMV Technique Beat
The whole video is great but the moment that stands out for me is from 0:41 - 0:48.
dokidoki - Stop Watching Anime and Go Outside!
2:48 - 2:52. Egads!
Kusoyaro - Sappy Self-Indulgence
3:15 - 3:34. The beginning with the 愛 (ai) character in the background (yeah, corny) and the whole build-up really matches the mood of the segment. But mostly how it finishes with Hitomi hugging Van.

Re: Favourite AMV moments of all time
Bakadeshi - Zero no Ai
From 3:02 to 3:20, especially the "I've been feeling so alone" part of the lyrics. It's what gives the video such a sentimental touch and it's the main reason why I like watching it again and again.
Bauzi - Never Giving Up
1:00 to 1:05, DENENDENENENENDENE THAT'S RIGHT! Catchy as fuck, always gets me in the mood for the song somehow :s
Neverend - Battle Shout
For me 0:45 to 0:56 is one of the most motivational scenes in AMV history. Definately my favorite part of that video.
VegettoEX & Meri - My Fist Is The Worst Kind Of Weapon
The same goes for 2:38 to 3:40 in this video. Amazingly effective as inspiration for getting a workout done.
Wonka - Die For Me
6:04 to 6:54, it's pretty much the personal climax of the video for me. Great scene selection for this important part of the song and awesome atmosphere.
