Oh lawl, a problem with Vista and AvsP
So, when I try to use AvsP in Vista, I get an error and a log text that says the following:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "run.py", line 5, in <module>
File "AvsP.pyo", line 73, in <module>
File "pyavs.pyo", line 31, in <module>
File "avisynth.pyo", line 4, in <module>
File "ctypes\__init__.pyo", line 415, in __getattr__
File "ctypes\__init__.pyo", line 340, in __init__
WindowsError: [Error 126] The specified module could not be found
---
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

When does it happen, when you start avsp, or if you try to view a video preview, or...?

Whenever I try to start AvsP. All I get is a Windows error message that tells me that errors have occurred and that I should check the aforementioned log file for details.Zarxrax wrote:When does it happen, when you start avsp, or if you try to view a video preview, or...?

Install Python? That's the only thing that jumps to my mind seeing all the references to .py and .pyo files.

I'm going to go ahead a take a guess that the moral of this story is simple: don't use Vista.

Re: Oh lawl, a problem with Vista and AvsP
...I am not sure, but in it it says that the module doesnt work, and specifies lines of what I believe are code, so maybe it didn't install correctly. Reinstall? Also, did you remember to take the included dll file and place it into your windows folder? I forgot it at first and it wouldn't open right, but unfortunately I am not certain if it is exactly the same prob, or even what my problem specifically was. It was a little while ago . Anyway, I would check to make sure that you have the included dll file from the folder that avsp came in from the amvapp in your windows folder, and if not just put it there. Otherwise maybe just reinstall? Hope this helps.

JongWu had necroposted it so that was why it was at the top, not your fault. Either way, as far as what used to concern OP, AvsP works just fine for me in Vista. I guess if installing python isn't necessary, then definitely try reinstalling AvsP. Putting this out more for future refere than anything since perhaps the issue has been dealt with already.Killerwombat wrote:I just necroposted... sorry. Does it really count as a necropost if it was the original poster and s/he hadn't yet seen a useful solution to the original problem?
