Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I think your scenes were extremely too long, even for slower syncs. The lip sync attempts were distracting and flow breaking, and the lip flap kind of also broke flow.

The speed alterations were really noticeable, and as an editor watching an edited video, was distracting.

I think the video needed a more fast pace [even though its a slowish song, it needed some speeding up].

But it was nice seeing something new source-wise, and the overall feel of it was "right" in terms of matching the source/audio. It just needed a tad more editing and fine tuning and it could have been something fairly interesting.

Good luck with future videos too. Just stick around, kind of look at a bunch of different videos and see a baseline level of quality/editing, and you can then improve your own editing!

I really appriciate the criticism, thank you, and I have to agree (with the exception of extreamly long scenes, I think just long would suffice). On top of never editing video before I think another large hinderance was just all the craziness of all the programs required for making AMVs. I never knew how much time and effort was required to complete a project and have a new found respect for editors and AMVs.

I was actually surprised how well this video turned out and I'm quite proud of myself :)
Can't wait to learn more tricks for tweaking and editing.

lol yeah a scene may seem passable to you now, but you'll see what we mean by too long if you stick to this hobby (and 'ignore' the critics, I hope you do!). If you watch a billion amvs you'll get a feel for too long and what you can do about it being too long. BUT you can't expect perfection to come over night. It took me 3 years to really nail the too long bug and even now it escapes my grasp from time to time. Just know that we'll ALWAYS be here to criticize for you :D. I hope you make great amvs in the future! :D
If you do not think so... you will DIE

everyone's first attempt at an amv isn't perfect no matter how many they've seen, 'cause once your hands are on the mouse and you're staring at some clips on a timeline..well it's quite intimidating. :p I think you did amazing for the first attempt ever at editing god knows even i've seen way worse. I hope you keep up this hobby, and maybe we can collab sometime~! I know you stayed up all night making it and i tend to do that alot 'cause i get pulled in by an idea. I'm happy your so enthusiastic~!
