A-Kon 21 VSE - Few Entries, Need More Submissions

Post by rubyeye » Wed Apr 14, 2010 7:32 pm

A-Kon 21 is still accepting videos!

Hey folks! Our current submission levels are rather light and we could really use some more videos for our contests. You’re video is almost guaranteed to play, if your friends and fellow editors don’t enter. But we also want to put on a stellar show with a variety of AMVs.

Reminder: Registration Deadline is May 2.

Everyone still has about 3 weeks left to register plus an additional week to get your videos uploaded to us. I know we’re pushing for time but help me spread the word: A-Kon could use more video submissions!

Would you clarify a few things for me?

I would have to be placed in Masters (I was a professional editor for a few years, have been making AMVs for ten years) I am guessing. I will note, all though I have made finalist in many cons, and even was a single runner-up in another, I have never won an award. Based on my level experience, I think entering the Meikou contest would violate the spirit of the separation. Am I correct?

How many videos may be submitted? Although I'm a slow editor, and I believe I have only finished two videos in the last 18 months. One drama, one highly technical comedy.

You can read all the requirements on the website.

Even if you have been making AMVs for a long time, if you're just a casual editor or if you feel your skills are not up to the challenge of competing with more experienced editors, you can enter the Standard Contest which is open for all creators: Limit of 2 Videos.

I haven't seen your work, but even without having "won" at a convention (making Runner Up or Finalists is still pretty good), you're certainly qualified to enter the 'Masters' which may be best for you. Number of videos you can enter is unlimited.

I submitted 2 videos - but they are in .Rar and not .Zip is that a problem? cause i don't have winzip. :/

i also had a few quality issues with some of the scenes in the 2nd submisison due to the way it had to be converted so i hope its ok to not get disqualified.
