DVD Fab works great as a riper for DVDs. It's included in the amv app and recommended by Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides Lovingly Overhauled Largely by Zarxrax

Burn? Unless you're burning to the same size disk, you're going to need to re-encode them as MPEG2, which is inherently lossy. Of course you're going to lose quality. But your thread title says rip, do you want to rip or burn? They are different things.

So again, do you want to burn (write it to a disk) or rip (copy from disk to your harddrive)?

Ripping is getting the video/audio from the disc onto your computer. Burning means writing anything to a disc.sportsgirl1391 wrote:I know there is a difference but im still learning what they are. X]

I also use Magic dvd ripper, and I hate it. It takes me like 7 to 9 hrs to rip a single disc. If anyone knows a faster way to get my anime on my harddrive, that's NOT too terribly expensive I would love to hear it.

Use DVDFab. There is a version you can pay for, but the trial version works fine. Heck, I actually like the trial better after the 30 days since it removes the DVD5 option (recompress/encode) and you can only use DVD9 (full quality). With a decent drive it should take just a few minutes per episode. Note that this is only getting it from the disc to your hard drive. Indexing can be done while you rip the next disc and, at least for me, that process finishes before the next rip is done.
