Scene selection in AMV edition

Post by TritioAFB » Sun Nov 21, 2010 1:01 pm

I will like to request to all the editors viewing this thread to give opinions about why the scene selection is important in the edition of AMVs. In the past days viewing different entries from different contests, I have been noticing that a video may have effects, but if its scene selection is bad, the video is in the average group or even down than average.

Even with the editors of my country, I noticed that there is no flow in the video if the scene selection is bad. So what do you think crow?

If the scene doesn't match the music (even a little), then it's like a youtube video when they changed the sound track. random.

This is a very common bitchfest of mine. Especially in upbeat vids that use boring scenes with no action in them, then try to make up for that with effects. It's also pretty common in angsty vids, just pick something that looks emo and slap on the grunge. I blame the Russians.

I've also found that having TOO MUCH scene selection can work against you too. Ppll just don't like to THINK when they watch AMVs. I'm not too sure some of them even have the capacity to anyway >.>
