Re: Vent Thread
Goddammit, I accidentally spawned a giant creeper in minecraft while developing some mobs for a mod I'm working on. It blew up a massive chunk of a tower I had been working on, and my last save backup was from before I built the tower. FFFFFF.
I think the next thing I'll have to do is figure out how to create an automatic backup every 10 minutes or so...

I took the opportunity to revisit my posts/textwalls from the old vent today while moving them.
It made me realize what a vain, bitter and pompous asshat I actually have been ;__; No, really.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: Vent Thread
A highly experimental decoder for Lagarith was finally committed to ffmpeg about 9 hours ago (how many years did it take?), so it showing up in ffdshow or being usable for Linux and OSX users is just a matter of time now.
Sound like something for the HAPPY thread, right? Just wait.
I normally would do periodic test compiles against the year-and-some old branch version of the decoder, but because of its age, I would have to manually fix it against the main source code of ffmpeg to make it possible to use with a current version (thus also making it possible to use with FFMS2 and x264). The last time I went through this manual updating process? 12 hours before the decoder was officially committed (about 10 of those interim hours I spent sleeping). I found out about this development a tad less than an hour ago. Not that the official commit seems to have changed all that much from the branch, if the mailing list post about the commit is any indication. But yeah. Decoder committed, excellent. The time/effort I spent to do nearly the exact same thing right before the process was rendered naught? Boo, hiss.
(I'm not really mad about it, but it makes for a good anecdote; I do feel that me going through the process of updating it again last night was a little pointless in hindsight, though)
