Re: I blame Shin for this....
Hmmm, well, where to begin? I think this would have been a lot better as a shorter, comedy-oriented video. It went on way too long to support the rather shallow concept of the video. And yes, I say your video was not comedy oriented, because it couldn't seem to make up its mind whether or not it wanted to be comedy or action. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with someone trying to blend two genres, but incredibly obvious lyric sync =/= comedy (unless, perhaps, it's unintentional and in a serious context), and due to the song I find it impossible to take this seriously as an action video (especially since you were also kind of treating it as a joke). The lip sync was spotty in places, and towards the end it was basically random footage with no kind of rhyme or reason. I think this could have been a lot more solid if it was shorter and had a more coherent theme other than "Here's the SECOND FMA series, lol, literal lyric sync is awesome, lol".

OMG yes!
If Moymoy Palaboy's viral video didn't already revive the song, this AMV most certainly has! Just so you know, I saw this more of an action video with some fun comedy thrown in. Still, I was smiling all throughout because of Moymoy Palaboy's video.
Best of luck to you with this video!

I think it got a little too serious after that long beat-heavy bridge in terms of the editing.
But other than that, sweet Christ this was flawless. XD

Re: I blame Shin for this....
the thread title is really what makes this enjoyable. I kinda agree with aesling about it not knowing what genre it is, but going into this "i blame shin for this" for some reason just takes the edge off and just had me watching it to watch it, and i wasn't dissatisfied

Re: I blame Shin for this....
Don't take it personally, but knowing what genre it is has nothing to do with the video just being fun to watch. I thought it was awesome but found it unusually irking to see a comment about how "not really that good" it was. Can you not say it was highly entertaining? I would just classify the genre as "FUN".aesling wrote: It went on way too long to support the rather shallow concept of the video...your video was not comedy oriented, because it couldn't seem to make up its mind whether or not it wanted to be comedy or action...due to the song I find it impossible to take this seriously as an action video (especially since you were also kind of treating it as a joke)

Re: I blame Shin for this....
You misunderstand what I was trying to say. Basically, the way I see it the video tries to do two very different things at the same time and so it kind of doesn't do either very well. Therefore, I CAN say it wasn't fun, because I didn't find it to be that fun. It would have been more fun if it had been much more comedy oriented. And I know also that you can't take Backstreet Boys very seriously. That is exactly what I said. Unfortunately, it's part of what makes the action sequences not work so well. I realize that fun is somewhat subjective, and if it was fun for you that's fine, but I wanted to share my point of view on what could have made it better. Now hopefully I have broken that down for you in a way you can understand, TEKnician.The_TEKnician wrote:Don't take it personally, but knowing what genre it is has nothing to do with the video just being fun to watch.
