The new DDR project (2nd mix) will be premiering at AWA 8 this year. It just about complete and it's all full (there is even a list of standby editors in case a track does not get done) so it's waaaay to late to contribute. I think it was all filled up by the late fall of last year....

from what i have been told, u have to be selected by Brad Demoss for it and its already happening but they wont show any tracks til AWA and when the finished project will be released i dont know. u r going to have to wait til next year and hope that u will either get picked to make a DDR Track video OR someone gives u a track from one of there 2 that they get.

i dont know very much about the history of DDR and i dont know exactly how it all works out. sorry if this does not help much, maybe someone will clue u in a bit more.

Yeah, I was really sad when I heard it had filled up.

Mark my words, I WILL be a part of the third DDR Project if they do such a thing. Maybe 4th mix, that'd rock :)

After soem of the crap the got past on the last DDR Project? I can imagine their screening process is rigid! Just look at the part of DDR Project for "Get Up and Dance" GOOD LORD!!!! How can they possibly let an AMV that sucks that bad pass for the DDR Project?

And also, I'm no n00b :P I just have nowhere to express myself with an online prescense... I am facelss in this AMV world... but not for long.. my 3 new AMVs are gonna rock the damn heavens :P well, 2 of them... heh.

You're not faceless, Garylisk... you're the guy with the nickname with easily-transposable letters, and who has an oversized avatar which inexplicably hasn't been removed by moderators. :-D

Well ya know, if it bothers you that much, I could always go with my second choice... but I dunno.... Well here it is, you tell me what you think! :)

Second mix? Oh well, the First Mix is the one I really wanna work on. Face it, it'd be a crime to let anyone but the Rudeboy work on a song by The Specials :P (In case y'don' know, I'm talkin about Little B*tch :P)

There was no soundtrack for the original Dance Dance Revolution, the first DDR related soundtrack was Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix. That's what's being done this year (and little bitch is on that soundtrack). Last year they did 3rd mix, next year will most likely be 4th mix.

And the reason so much of what Garylisk considers substandard stuff got in the first DDR project was because it was finished literally 2 hours after it was supposed to start.

Basically a WHOLE bunch of editors last year flaked on them, and some people wound up doing several tracks at the very last minute (Hsien, Nic, a few others).

Sadly this year similar events have transpired, and many tracks have been reassigned. Fortunately, they've been reassigned with 2 months to go instead of like 2 weeks.

But still the fact remains that the reason the project is invite only is because most AMV creators are FLAKEY. The people who participated and worked their butts off last year got first dibs on stuff this year. Those people were then allowed to assign the tracks they selected to other editors, sort of like sub-assignments. Vlad (Pohnert) got two tracks, and he gave me one of them. We've both completed ours, and thus will probably be participating next year.

The best way to get "in" on the project is to get hooked up with someone who already is with the in-crowd, and have them give you one of their tracks. But that'll have to wait for a little while since 2nd Mix is all filled up, and next year's assignments will be going to the editors who completed tracks this year on time, and then they will sub-assign their tracks.
