What You've Become [ SWORD ART ONLINE AMV ]

Post by Threetwofive » Tue May 14, 2013 6:16 am

Hey guys, here's my first AMV (and my first post!)
Anime: Sword Art Online
Song: Skeleton by Conditions

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C639cuzuG-o

All constructive criticism would be great! Still getting the hang of Sony Vegas etc, so I know it's lacking special fx.
Cheers,
Threetwofive.

Well, I'd say it needs more scenes. A lot more. As it is now it felt like I was watching parts of the anime again with some song put to it. Also, try to keep the pace of the video the same as that of the song. For example: around 0:22 the mucis speeds up but there is barely any movement in the video.

Ah ok awesome
Yeah I was mainly trying to go for a 'story' with the music and lyrics(in some sections), and probably got carried away with big fightscenes and stuff :3
Might go re-watch the anime and take note on sections which could be used for clips to add more scenes to the video :)
Thanks again! I will definitely keep that in mind in my next one.

.. I don't follow the story but grasp the concept.

AMV's used to be taught in 10 second shorties,
"how much understanding of a situation can you grasp of what I'm trying to display" kinda thing.

yours seemed odd right from the start: then a girl joins in, then she is falling,
then she reaches for him twice during the same fall, finally -- she dis-approves,
he's broken the sward but "she's not there" and another girl crystal-izes and <<Poof>> shes' gone T__T
... ... did I miss anything? ... ...

1) The song is fine ( I don't care for it myself ) but, it works well with you construction. ^__^

2) there needs to be a reason for this "anger" to be happening.

3) there needs to be "something that Triggered the Action which unfolds." {{ this ones usually a tough-one to present! }}

and

4) its your choice as to "how it ends" or "how it didn't End in an Acceptable Conclusion."

AMV's don't need to tell a story, The Anime Itself Is Already Bizarre Enough As Is!
What an AMV can do is "fill-in" the Gaps -or- Explain the "Why It Happened" point of view.

Finally, you've got the right idea ... however ... once a sward is drawn, you normally have a split second to live:
a sward fight is not fought on the run! .. .. "When is the last time you ever saw a Cop Running down the
freeway as fast as they can -- holding a machine-gun for miles without firing it and nobody seems to notice it" ?? T__T
That was the feeling I got from your AMV ... a complete lack of "why" this had to happen.

-- just a thought ^__^

Had to read through that a couple of times, but I get what you're saying.
Next time I think rather than chucking the clips together I might actually sit and think, and spend a much longer time finding clips that 'fit' if you know what I mean?
Like, make a storyboard or something along those lines instead of just rolling with it as I just did :P

I've still got much to learn!

Note to editor: I'm still new to the game but I would to say this. Try doing the song in 30'sec clips someone told me try doing my next project like that and you will see how it works out. Cause I don't have a laptop no more but I'm looking to get a nice Alienware PC at $900 Barbados dollars if I success in this buy I will be on top my game in spec's PC wise. And I will be starting back on some old projects I did before like my shades of-BRS and new one I have upcoming. So try doin it as 30 seconds parts but get ppl to beta test as well for you. I'm willing to BT for you to
