GEHIRNSTURMEN

The download link just points to the Akross page.
Here it is on Youtube.

This is the video I've made over the course of last year. It's awesome.

Here's a disclaimer that this video can be pretty disturbing. When you can handle that be warned it's also not entirely made for viewing pleasure.

What am I even doing here.

The explanation of the video title requires me to review the video, so here it is in a spoiler.
Spoiler :
"Gehirnsturmen" consists of the words "Gehirn", which means "Brain", and "Sturm" which means "storm". The way it's konjugated "sturmen" is gramatically wrong though, but it's a literal, naive (and wrong) translation of the expression "Brainstorming". The reason I used it as the title for the video is because the video is in part about chaos, unorderliness and the inability to manage what's currently going on. Brainstorming is used to bring order to previously unconnected thoughts about a specific subject, so in a way it is the process of trying to fix the chaos that's currently going on in the brain. The wrong translation "Gehirmsturmen" to a word that does not exist is supposed to symbolize the failed attempt to do so and begs the question: Maybe thoughts are meant to be chaotic and maybe the inner workings of your mind are best kept free and unrestricted of unnessecary rules. And that's the way I went about making this video as well, and that is why I thought the title fits the video perfectly as I see it.

I personally like the amv for what it is and because it has such a destructive atmosphere. Nice editing too - some gold synchings at certain parts.

While I do worry about myself as to why I like this video, I still need to admit that I do love it.
Thing is my mind actually goes completely blank when I watch this (is that a good thing for the vid?) and I cant seem to escape from being consumed by it.
Yes I suck at expressing myself but I really cant think of another way :| Good job!

Mhm quite close to me enjoying it :dino:. Thought it got a bit dull after some time , probably because of music. Not bad tho i liked sync mostly, maybe colorful borders werent best idea. I will give it few views tho before some rating..? :dino:
Still better than that MMO.

I'm not sure if I liked it too much. It was a cool idea and all, I just think some of the things in it got a little repetitive. That doesn't make it a bad video though, it's still pretty good.

Hahaha very funny to watch. I did enjoy how you chose the most unusual ways to express the sounds of the song.

As I wrote on Akross, I think this video's perfect in the sense that it achieves its purpose, even if the majority of people might not be too turned on by that purpose. It reminds me a bit of PencilHead, not aesthetically, but in the way it's very carefully and creatively put together to give the feeling of being on a clusterfuck of a journey. And it's a fun trip. The first time I watched it, I couldn't help chuckling at some moments where the sync was wonderfully clever/disturbing (like where Rei's wing-things blossom).

I don't really get all the negativity surrounding this video. It's weird and doesn't appeal to a lot of people, but it's at the very least a well-executed experiment. I wonder how much more positive its reception would be if viewers didn't expect something less outrageous from you, which, given what you've edited before, is a little confusing to me. Anyway, I like the direction you're headed
