Q: What is a AMV?
Wikipedia wrote:An Anime music video (AMV) typically is a fan-made music video consisting of clips from one or more animation shows or movies set to an audio track, often songs or promotional trailer audio. AMVs are not official music videos released by the musicians, but are rather fan compositions which synchronize edited video clips with an audio track. AMVs are most commonly posted and distributed over the Internet through AnimeMusicVideos.org or YouTube. Anime conventions frequently run AMV contests or AMV exhibitions consisting of blocks of videos.

Q: What is a AMV Studio?

A studio is a label to which one or more editors associate primarily for recognition purposes. You do not need to be in a studio to enter a video in the site catalog.

Q: I'm interested in entering a AMV Contest. Do I have to attend it?

Most AMV contests don't require participants attend its corresponding convention. And the very few that do, only require attendance in order to accept your award or prizes (if you win). And so if the rules of a particular contest don't explicitly state that attendance is required, then its fair to assume that it isn't. To see a list of upcoming contests, you can go to the “AMV Contests” forum here

The Org is full of people willing to help you out and give you advice. If you would like critique on a specific video, you can post it in the “AMV Announcements & Feedback” forum here. It is also recommended for you check out the “So You Want To Be A *GOOD* Anime Music Video Editor?” thread here.

Q: What are the VCAs (Viewer Choice Awards)?

The AnimeMusicVideos.org Viewers Choice Awards is an annual opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the videos that stand out above and beyond the rest. It is a way for everyone who enjoys anime music videos here to say “Thank you” to the ones who went out of their way to put that extra effort of creating a video that is really exceptional. And so every year, we let members vote on what videos they thought were the very best from the previous year. There are awards for Best Action, Editor of the Year, Best MEP, and quite a few more! If you want to see what has won in previous years you can go here and click through the years!

Q: I signed up but I didn't get a confirmation email. What happened?

Most likely, one of three things happened. Either you typed in your email address wrong, there has been a delay in delivering/ receiving your message, or your email account settings may have filtered the message, and sent it to your spam box. If you don't get an email within a day then contact admin@animemusicvideos.org with your username.
