Hey guys, its my first attempt at an AMV. It's a comedy amv with some not so lovely language but you've been warned. Also, I tried to figure out the upload system but it didn't have the song I used so I was out of luck. The creator/song is Tropical Storm: Dick touch the water and the anime is My love story by Studio Madhouse.

The choice to use "My Love Story" did make some of the lip sync scenes a little funny because of the expression on the main character's face, but for the most part, this doesn't really feel like a strong combo. Personally, I feel that the anime "Golden Boy" would have been a really strong pick for this song and would have added things to the concept that make the song even funnier (which is what comedy videos should try to do IMO).
But even so, I gotta tell ya. This is a great first attempt at editing. (Far better than my first attempt at least....or my 2nd...or 3rd....yeah, you get the point
) Even though I don't agree with your anime choice, you did a pretty nice job on the lip sync and the effects 
In terms of adding your song (so that you can upload to the local server), you'll need to go to the "add music section" of your video and then select "Tropical Storm" as your artist. Then select "Dick touch the water" as your song. I just added it to the database for you
There is also a button on that page for you to add music and artists yourself.

I agree with Kireblue. This is a great first attempt at editing. I haven't seen Golden Boy though so I can't say if it would've been better.
It's hard to say what's "con worthy" as I've seen some things play at contests that had me think; "really?" and then when I go to the overflow, I see things that I thought were FAR superior and more "con worthy" that didn't get in so I'd say give it a shot. Mind you, I'd suggest adding bleeps when it says "shit" or perhaps even "dick" since most contests go for a PG-13 rating.
