The Jim Kaposztas AMV Archives
Making this a thread for archival purposes, but as of Sunday, February 5th news broke that one of the earliest AMV creators James "Jim" Kaposztas passed away. It kinda tore me up since I was talking to Jim at the end of December on Discord on how to help him uplaod his stuff on this site since he created an account (under JimKappy). I reached out to him to try and help him out with that. I didn't hear from him after that and figured people got busy and then found out about this news on Sunday. Jim was recently featured on the "Synced Togeather" Documentary, and ill be linking on here a few other things that people have found on him like him at Anime Expo 1992 Cosplay Event. I even played one of his videos at my "Head Banging AMV" panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2022 where I gave him a shoutout and I believe the crowd really enjoyed his video (which is Project A-ko paired with the Japanese metal group Loudness)
At the request of me chatting with people on another anime forum, I went and got all of Jim videos from his personal Youtube and put them on Internet Archive in case his page were to ever go down. I know Jim told me he was still transfering stuff from tape to his computer, and im hoping his family will maybe somehow continue that and let it be known online, but that's just my speculation. As of now, here is everything he put out on his Youtube page as of his passing. To think probably half of this stuff is older than me and is still enjoyable to watch 40 years later. I hope you guys enjoy the content because I sure did.

I appreciate that thanks. Just wanting to make sure that we have a bookmark of his stuff in the forums for other people to see in the future. Any other news people can come across on Jim can be posted here as well.

Yea for some reason I didn't get the audio when i ripped it. I wonder if Youtube muted it for some reason or it didn't rip correctly when i got all his videos.

Sounds awesome! Were you planning on using the account he has set up (JimKappy) or making a new one?

I'm gonna use his already-existing account and make a note that I uploaded the videos on his behalfZeonic Freak wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 11:33 amSounds awesome! Were you planning on using the account he has set up (JimKappy) or making a new one?
