[Tora-Con AMV Contest]

Hello! The Tora-Con AMV Contest is now open for submissions!

Please note that like last year, we can again only accept entries from editors aged 18 years old or older. This is due to restrictions placed by the Rochester Institute of Technology, which hosts Tora-Con.

Also note that all Tora-Con content (and by extensions, our AMV Contest) must be "family friendly", and RIT is pretty strict about what it deems appropriate. As a result, our contest tends to be very restrictive on issues such as profanity in the audio and nudity in the video. Even certain magical girl transformation scenes have been thrown out by our club administrators before. Please read over our contest rules carefully before submitting! If your video is rejected, I will try to explain why and you are always welcome to modify and resubmit your video, if you want to.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay in announcing winners. A few months ago I moved to a southern state, so I had to travel up to Rochester for Tora-Con. THEN I had to travel back home for a few days for my job, THEN travel BACK to the northeast to work at Anime Boston! (Yeah, I could not just get the whole week off, and being on planes for back-to-back weekends was a drag!)

Anyway~~

Below is the list of Tora-Con 2024 finalists, with winners noted in red. Winners for the AMV Contest will be emailed separately regarding prizes and trophies. Just to review - There are 7 awards (Category Awards & Best in Show) that are voted on by the attendee audience, and 3 awards (Judge's Choice, Editing Skills, and Artistic Merit) that are voted on by Tora-Con staff. A single video can win one audience AND one Judge's award, but not more than one of each.

I am requesting that finalist editors please send me a link to your AMV if you happen to have it hosted on YouTube or some other video-sharing platform. When the video list is published on the Tora-Con website, I will be happy to share a playlist with all of the finalists so that even more people can enjoy the videos.

Thank you to everyone who participated! Your entries help make it a fun event for all of our attendees to enjoy. I hope that everyone will consider entering the contest again next year as well.
