So what?

I mean... some anime are military based... so obviously the people are going to wear the same military uniforms.

Some anime are school based - and Japanese schools have uniforms as well... but note the characters in those shows often wear other outfits outside of class.

In Utena, they show that Utena has very few outfits, but they show scenes of her (or Anthy) cleaning those clothes for wear

Ryoko in Tenchi Muyo has like 5 or 6 different outfits (and I've seen Mihoshi and Ayeka in different outfits)

Then there are some shows where many episodes go by... but they cover events that happen in a short period of time.

Hell - DBZ spends 10 episodes on a single fight that takes place in like 5 minutes of real time... so obviously they're going to be wearing the same clothes.

Also - bear in mind that many in Japan do not have enormous wardrobes like those of us here in the US.

Just my 2 cents (and a nickel too!)
There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

Hell, even in Dragonball Z the characters wear different clothes.

You know the reason they dont give characters new cloths every episode?Becuase it is a tiresome habit to draw out every outfit all day everyday. The reason they keep it one original way is to 1)Use scenes that they used before in previous episodes like attacks and what not and 2)To make the anime come out to the viewers faster

Perhaps a "nudist" anime should be made were the entire cast of characters are naked all the time, wearing nothing more than static black boxes were their genitalia should be...

That would save tons in animation budget!

On the other hand accurate skin shading, curves... Well they can hire some US animators. If so, people won't be able to tell if characters are really naked or wearing vector shapes. :)

How can you say alot, when the MAJORITY don't? this isn't a 51 49% ratio here thats like 5 out of all anime.
We can say a lot, because there ARE a lot...even if the majority of characters dont change clothes, there are still a lot that do. 1/20 isnt a large percent, but when there are countless amounts of anime out there, its still a large number
