Just a thought:
How many of you started watching anime by going out and spening $40 on a DVD of a series you had no clue about? Personally, I started with censored series and worked from there. Actually, I started with Ronin Warriors. Back in the day... with Michael Keaton still playing as Batman and the jolly green giant donkey punching Fran.

actually, everybody i know watched it at a friends house, and the chick that started the whole anime thing in my highschool (which was like at least 7 yrs ago) heard about it on the net and went out and bought akira... and she passed it around her group of friends and we fell in love with it and then started buying them at the mall... i was psyched about sci-fi showing anime and they did a realy good job of not editing the movie's a whole lot, but it was still edited and i didn't like it... i dunno, maybe it's just me but when shit is missing and there are entire scenes deleted it just makes me sad.... and if you want the truth i started watching anime with speed racer a long long time ago when i was in diapers o_O along with transformers that was the shit... i flipped when i bought the transformers movie dvd and heard spike say "oh shit!!" i was like fuckin' a i never knew about that!!! and talked about it non-stop for at least 2 months...
